Redken NEW Color Extend

ce_family-us

Even though I don’t spend hundreds of dollars on my hair color (like many of my friends) I still want my at-home hair color to remain shiny and radiant for as long as possible.

New advanced Color Extend by Redken offers even stronger protection to extend the life and vibrancy of haircolor by incorporating color-sealing agents, cranberry oil for shine, ceramide for strength and UVA/UVB protection to shield hair from the environment.

The products in this range are:

  • Color Extend Shampoo: Gently cleanses while providing anti-fade protection, increased vibrancy and shine to color-treated hair.
  • Color Extend Conditioner: Detangles and provides protection from fading agents while restoring color vibrancy.
  • Rich Recovery: Provides anti-fade protection, improved manageability and intense replenishment to color-treated hair.
  • Total Recharge: Detangles, strengthens, and reinforces the cuticle while revitalizing color-treated hair with powerful protection and radiant shine.
  • Shine Enrich: Helps protect hair color while helping to seal split ends, smooth fly-aways, and impart mirror-like shine.

Some other tips to keep your hair color from fading:

  1. Keep washing to a minimum. Every time your hair is in contact with mineral-rich water, your color’s vibrancy is stripped.
  2. Wear a hat when you’re in the sun. UVA/UVB rays contribute to color fading.

Redken Color Extend can be purchased at any Redken salon for $13-$16. To locate a salon near you, please go to redken.com.

Teen Corner: L’Oreal Feria Shimmering Hair Color

Teen Corner

Last month we had a little hair coloring party sponsored by L’Oréal Paris for their New Féria Multi-Faceted Shimmering Colour with Bailey and her friends.

Bailey and I, along with our friends, are always coloring our hair at home. It’s quick and easy (as long as it doesn’t splash on the cabinets leaving dark stains that DO NOT GO AWAY forcing me to strip and re-stain them before my mother gets home–which could pose a problem for those under age 18 as painting supplies are apparently the drug of choice for some teenagers. Who knew?!) and the results are usually great.

The first thing Bailey noticed about New Féria Multi-Faceted Shimmering Colour is the thicker formula which makes application easier and less messy. Also, the smell was actually pleasant, unlike other formulas we’ve used in the past.

After the color was rinsed off and they dried their hair, everyone could not believe how soft and shiny their hair felt. And the color looked amazing:

Bailey's Hair

It’s been several months since Bailey’s visit to the Warren Tricomi Salon for help with her damaged hair .

She continues to trash it daily with her curling iron and straightening iron, but she took some of Kaz Amor’s advice (he’s the Warren Tricomi Salon principle and an internationally acclaimed colorist) and keeps the heat at a lower temperature. She also protects her strands before using styling tools with products like Matrix Gold Heat Protective Dry Mist or TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Protective Spray .

Bailey’s hair is far from perfect, but it’s definitely looking better than before. Of course, she can’t repair the damage that’s already been done, she can only continue to use protective sprays and less heat from her styling tools to prevent further damage from happening.

To achieve the bouncy loose curls here in this photo (above) Bailey used a 2" barrel curling iron and loosely wrapped her hair around the outside of the barrel (careful not to burn your fingers!). After curling, she ran her fingers through her hair for natural-looking, unfussy curls. (No librarian hair here, please.)

And here’s what is happening with me:

I’m tan, tan, tan (of course I’m using sunblock daily) and having the best summer ever!

Hope you are all enjoying your summers and staying out of trouble :]]

xoxo,

Bree
