Teen Corner: How to Get the Silkiest Hair EVER

This is my third Teen Corner entry in two days. Wow, I am so impressed with myself!

With a crazy-busy life: dad’s away fishing, mom’s a psycho (she harasses me daily to update this site!), Bailey has been scheming ways to convince our parents to buy her a dog and Janey’s been googling “how to kiss” (I’m not even kidding. What seven-year-old needs to know how to kiss?!). Keeping up with my family is harder than keeping up with those Kardashians!

With all the craziness surrounding me, the one thing I can count on every day is my hair. I have been using Bumble + bumble Creme de Coco Masque and it’s UHHHmazing! My hair is soft, silky and sleek:

Here’s how I use it:
After washing hair, squeeze out remaining water, apply a generous amount throughout hair and leave on for at least seven minutes, or in my case until the hot water runs out! Recommended usage is once a week, but I use it waaay more than that. I can’t help it– I’m addicted to the way it makes my hair feel. And it smells good, too!
Talk to you soon my loves,
Bree

Teen Corner: MORE New Hair for Bailey

Bailey is like a chameleon when it comes to her hair. After a long summer in Hawaii, her bleached out hair was more “brassy” than blonde. Even after a trip to the salon to tone it down.

Finally, my mom decided to take matters into her own hands this weekend and bought two boxes of L’Oreal Feria Hair Color in Light Brown.

Check out Bailey’s before and after shots. Much better, right?

Old School Makeup Bag: Because I Have Hair Issues

Not that hair is my only issue, because—trust me—I have many. But my hair is truly a girl’s worst nightmare.

In order to achieve the slightest bit of volume, I must pack on the product, and blow-dry with a big round brush almost immediately after getting out of the shower (read: hair must be sopping wet).

If I don’t go through these steps, my baby fine hair lays flat against my head like I’ve been wearing a beanie for 18 hours. It’s bad.

The one alternative we’ve found to avoid these woes is the Tigi Bedhead Dual Barrel Waver.

tigi dual barrel waver

This handy little waver is my best friend when I get distracted in the morning—updating this website, making breakfast for the kids, doing last-minute ironing—and find my hair completely dry before I know it (when you have hair as fine as mine it air-dries in 6 minutes flat). Thankfully, a few crimps with the Tigi Bedhead Dual Barrel Waver and I’m ready to walk out the door with perfectly presentable hair.

The barrel is adjustable for deep or shallow waves and works wonders to give life to my limp locks. I use this 2-3 times per week (or more) for wavy, voluminous hair in half the time it takes to blow-dry.

If I’m in a super-rush, I’ll crimp just my crown and hairline before pulling hair back into a low pony. This adds volume and dimension to an otherwise boring ponytail.

Tigi Bedhead Dual Barrel Waver is available online at Ulta.com for $34.99

CLEAN Shampoo Fresh Hair Fragrance

clean-hair-freshener
I’ve always said that while I think the CLEAN’s signature scent is perfectly pleasant and completely consistent with its namesake, using the fragrance as a perfume baffles me.

But alas, the great people at Clean are on to me and created CLEAN Shampoo Fresh Hair Fragrance, an ideal use; it’s the perfect way to freshen up your mane and impart a crisp, clean scent so you can spritz and go, no styling required!

CLEAN Shampoo Fresh Hair Fragrance is available from Beauty.com for $39.
