What’s in My Shower: November Edition

whats in my shower november

So technically it’s not November anymore. Can you believe?

How does time slip away from me like so? As I’m lying in bed, battling my cold, I realized I didn’t share what’s in my shower for the month of November.

L’Occitane Amande Shower Oil

Every winter I bust out this shower oil because it’s so moisturizing and smells delicious. Funny thing is, I haven’t bought this since 2007 when I stocked up during a Sephora Friends & Family sale. Come to my house and I won’t have any back stock of canned goods or paper towels, but I have enough L’Occitane Amande Shower Oil to last me until 2013.

Molton Brown Celestial Maracuja Sugar Polish ($60)

I received a sample of this scrub during an event at Fashion Week a few seasons ago and I’ve repurchased it twice since (mainly because Janey won’t keep her paws off it!). The sugar is coarse so be sure to stir well with your finger as it tends to settle at the bottom of the jar. I absolutely adore how this makes my skin feel and smell.

Nexxus Diametress Shampoo & Sublime Volume Conditioner

I picked up this shampoo & conditioner at Walmart last month. Many times I choose my shampoo much like I choose my football teams—based on looks and looks alone. These sleek bottles caught my eye and they’ve been working great on my fine hair.

I know I have a new face wash in there, too, but I’m feeling feverish and weak and just can’t get off my butt to go see what it is. Next time, I promise!

What’s In My Shower: October Edition

whats in my shower october

Suave Professionals Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner ($2.69)

For less than $3 each, this volumizing shampoo & conditioner is a steal. I can’t say it’s the best shampoo & conditioner I’ve used but it has a great smell and doesn’t weigh down my fine hair. Also? It costs less than a grande soy latte with one Splenda!

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Plump Perfect Gentle Line Smoothing Exfoliator ($27)

I like to use face exfoliators in the shower as they are easier to rinse clean. (At the sink, I never seem to rinse away all the little granules around my hairline.) This Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Plump Perfect Gentle Exfoliator contains micro-fine beads to polish skin and leave it looking fresh and new. I’ve been using it once a week in the shower to revitalize my skin.

Korres Materia Herba Toning Cleansing Foam ($27)

Typically, I stay away from foam cleansers as I prefer creamier formulas for my normal to dry skin, but this Materia Herba Toning Cleansing Foam from Korres is anything but drying. The all-natural ingredients are formulated to break up oil and bacteria while sloughing off dead skin cells, leaving skin soothed and hydrated.

Pureology SuperSmooth Shampoo & Conditioner

This shampoo & conditioner from Pureology is designed to smooth and strengthen chemically processed hair. Formerly the SuperStraight System, this line includes reformulated favorites plus new products to help smooth unmanageable hair. I like how it has a slight masculine scent—a nice departure from the typical shampoo scent.

Molton Brown Purify Ambrusca Body Wash & Polish ($32)

The Purify Ambrusca Body Wash & Polish contains particles that aggressively exfoliate skin while cleansing with a rich lather and leaving behind its delightful scent. With winter upon us (I woke up to snow this morning!) this is the perfect scrub to polish dull skin and get the blood flowing!

Victoria’s Secret Brilliant Shine Mist

vs brilliant shine mist

I (gulp!) still haven’t gotten around to trying Victoria’s Secret hair products, despite the rave reviews they garner for their innovative formulas and super luxe scents.

To me, this one looks like the perfect foray into the line’s offerings, after all, who wouldn’t want the sexy, silky hair it promises? The light aerosol spray is loaded with vitamins and silicones to kiss your hair with super serious shine. Plus, the pink gradient bottle is beautiful and fits perfectly into my color palette for fall!

Victoria’s Secret Brilliant Shine Mist is available from Victoria’s Secret Beauty for $10.

Gigi, Your Guardian Girlfriend

gigi arms bubble

I am loving the Gigi character in the new Clairol Nice ‘n Easy commercials. Played by Angela Kinsey from The Office, Gigi is like your straight-shooting girlfriend that will NEVER let you out of the house looking less than your best.

“I love girl talk, especially when it comes to beauty: sharing tips and tricks about what really works,” says Angela.  “I’ve been coloring my hair for years, so I understand that instant emotional boost that comes with getting your color just right, and I’m excited to help other women achieve that, too.”

Check out this hilarious out-take of making the commercial:

PS- I’m a natural medium brown, what color are you?
