What’s In My Shower: October Edition

whats in my shower october

Suave Professionals Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner ($2.69)

For less than $3 each, this volumizing shampoo & conditioner is a steal. I can’t say it’s the best shampoo & conditioner I’ve used but it has a great smell and doesn’t weigh down my fine hair. Also? It costs less than a grande soy latte with one Splenda!

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Plump Perfect Gentle Line Smoothing Exfoliator ($27)

I like to use face exfoliators in the shower as they are easier to rinse clean. (At the sink, I never seem to rinse away all the little granules around my hairline.) This Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Plump Perfect Gentle Exfoliator contains micro-fine beads to polish skin and leave it looking fresh and new. I’ve been using it once a week in the shower to revitalize my skin.

Korres Materia Herba Toning Cleansing Foam ($27)

Typically, I stay away from foam cleansers as I prefer creamier formulas for my normal to dry skin, but this Materia Herba Toning Cleansing Foam from Korres is anything but drying. The all-natural ingredients are formulated to break up oil and bacteria while sloughing off dead skin cells, leaving skin soothed and hydrated.

Pureology SuperSmooth Shampoo & Conditioner

This shampoo & conditioner from Pureology is designed to smooth and strengthen chemically processed hair. Formerly the SuperStraight System, this line includes reformulated favorites plus new products to help smooth unmanageable hair. I like how it has a slight masculine scent—a nice departure from the typical shampoo scent.

Molton Brown Purify Ambrusca Body Wash & Polish ($32)

The Purify Ambrusca Body Wash & Polish contains particles that aggressively exfoliate skin while cleansing with a rich lather and leaving behind its delightful scent. With winter upon us (I woke up to snow this morning!) this is the perfect scrub to polish dull skin and get the blood flowing!

H2O+ Bali Breeze Collection

8x10_GirlandType

I woke up to 4 inches of snow this morning (I’m not complaining, it could be worse) but instead of throwing on gloves and heading outside to build a snowman, I took a mini vacation (in my bathroom) to the island of Bali with the H2O+ Bali Breeze Collection.

h20bbreeze-group1

The H2O+ Bali Breeze Body Butter is luxuriously lush and soothing, island-rich moisturizing body butter, ripe with juicy mango, creamy coconut and deep-sea botanicals.

I also love the H2O+ Bali Breeze Luminous Moisture Gloss, a spray on body oil that hydrates skin with coconut and jojoba oils.

Finally a Product Body review

We’ve been reading about Product Body and their incredible line of bath & body products for nearly a year but only tried them for the first time last week. Finally.

Product Body Crush on You

We were most excited to try Crush On You, the Ultra Plush Sugar Shea Scrubby Wash that everyone’s talking about. While the scent we tried, Yuzu, was a little too citrus-y for us, the product itself is INCREDIBLE. Our skin is so smooth and soft, we feel like we’ve had a glycolic treatment over our entire body.

(And you probably don’t know who The Jets are because you were probably born in the 80’s and have skin so incredible you’ve never even heard of a glycolic treatment much less experienced one, but every time we use this product we get Crush on You by The Jets stuck in our head.) (Shut up. It was 1986 and we didn’t know any better.)

The bad thing about Crush On You is that our husband discovered it and can’t keep his hands off it. He’s enchanted with the Yuzu scent. Of course he’ll never admit this (in fact he might just show the kids our secret stash of Milk Duds if he finds out we’ve told you) but he’s referring to our Crush On You as if it were his. When we tried to hide it from him he was all Where did you put my scrubby stuff ?

Product Body Cream

We also tried the Product Body Cream, also in Yuzu, and OHMYGOD this stuff is like nothing we’ve tried before. In a futile attempt to describe this to our friend we were like It’s sooooo soft. And cushiony. And creamy. And soft. You HAVE to try it.

I’m sure she thinks we’re nuts.

But seriously. You HAVE to try it.

Silky Soft Skin

Have you ever tried rice pudding? It’s like tapioca, only better- sweet and creamy with tons of texture. Add fruit and we can’t think of a better dessert. (Except maybe Jamoca Almond Fudge ice cream from Baskin Robbins).

When we opened KenzoKi Milky-Rice Body Scrub, our first reaction was to grab a spoon.

KenzoKi Milky Rice Body Scrub

While this body scrub looks and feels like rice pudding, it smells nothing of the sort.

We’ve been trying for days to come up with a good description of how this smells- but the only word we’ve mustered is gentle. It could be that this “scrub” is not like any other scrub in our shower. This gently exfoliates with soft, pillowy grains of rice that feel more like a massage than exfoliation, leaving our skin feeling smooth and moisturized. While gentle is certainly not a scent, this is exactly what KenzoKi Milky-Rice Body Scrub smells like to us.

And honestly, we could use this every day for the next year and not tire of it.
