Kate Walsh Glams it Up with Suave!

katewalsh emmys

I loved seeing actress and Emmy presenter Kate Walsh at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards Sunday night giving a shout-out to Suave on the red carpet!

Kate put America in the stylists’ shoes and asked them to choose her hairstyle for the Emmys — and the Modern Bob WON! Celebrity hair stylist Luke O’Connor created Kate’s winning hair for her red carpet strut. Kate paired her high end fashion with affordable finds like Suave Professionals, which are salon-proven to work as well as salon brands. Here are his tips on how to get Kate’s look:

Modern Bob – Get the Look!

- Begin with Vibrant Shine shampoo and conditioner from Suave Professionals to restore shine and luster to dull hair.

- Next, blow dry hair in sections with a large round brush.

- For the side-swept bangs, take the front section and blow-dry back with a large round brush, swooping to the side.

- Finally, apply a dollop of Suave Professionals Sleek Anti-Frizz Cream. Apply first to ends and work your way up to control fly-aways.

- Finish the look with Suave Professionals Extra Hold Hairspray.

Here in my living room, we were having our own little Emmy party with stylists from a local salon called Bella. It was so fun to try and re-create red carpet looks with products from the Suave Professionals line.

After seeing lots of twisty-dos on the red carpet, Bree chose an off-center, loose chignon with lots of twists and detail. To get this look, Bella Salon stylist Jeannette used Suave Professionals Volumizing Root Lifter Spray Gel before curling Bree’s hair with a 1 1/4″ curling iron.

After sweeping the bottom portion of Bree’s hair into a chignon, Jeannette twisted strands from the sides and attached them at the back with bobby pins. She finished the look with Suave Professionals Freeze Hold Shaping & Finishing Spray.

Elysse loved the look of Jennifer Love Hewitt, but opted for more volume. To create this look, Jeannette added Suave Professionals Healthy Curls Scrunching Mousse to Elysse’s hair before adding curls.

She twisted strands along the hairline and secured them at the sides, then sprayed with Suave Professionals Freeze Hold Shaping & Finishing Spray for the finished look. Gorgeous!

Even Janey got in on the fun with a Breakfast at Tiffany’s inspired French twist:

Bailey opted for beachy waves to match her bleached-out summer hair:

Our other party guests were camera-shy, but everyone had a wonderful time watching the Emmy’s and getting styled with Suave Professionals products.

Special thanks to Suave Professionals and Bella Salon for a fun evening!

Grammy Gorgeousness: Katy Perry

Katie Perry‘s hairstyle at last nights’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles was a classy rendition of a 40’s style wave – defined yet soft and a fun look for those with shorter hair. Suave celebrity hairstylist, Luke O’Connor, has a few tips on how to recreate this look at home:

Grammy Gorgeousness: Taylor Swift

Teenage country singer, Taylor Swift, looked amazing tonight with her flirty sideswept hair and pretty makeup. (I like this hairstyle much better than the one she wore to the Country Music Awards.)

The soft gray shadow and pink lips perfectly complemented Taylor’s bright blue eyes and milky skin. Her face is nearly as gorgeous as her angelic voice.

Taylor wore her signature, long blonde curly hair in a luminous, deconstructed updo that was fresh and slightly bohemian.

Leading award-winning celebrity stylist Enzo Angileri, who styles looks for a long list of Hollywood A-list clients such as Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lopez and Faith Hill, created the elegantly spirited look.

Angileri created the eye-catching style by first using a medium-sized curling iron throughout the hair to create volume at the roots for added lift.

He then used Moroccanoil® Intense Curl Cream, a leave-on conditioner enhanced by Argan Oil, on the ends to hydrate, smooth definition and restore hair’s elasticity after using the curling iron.

Angileri then asked Taylor Swift to “lift up her face up to the sky” and bring her chin all the way up. He gathered all of her hair together in one, quick movement, and twirled it round, and into place.

He then misted Taylor’s hair with new Moroccanoil® Gold Glimmer Shine Spray, infused with Argan Oil, from a distance of 10-12 inches, to create a weightless veil of shine on the hair. Finally, hair was pinned in place with 4-5 strategically placed bobby pins.

According to Angileri, “I wanted to create a lightweight look that was unstructured and looked product-free, and used Moroccanoil® products because of their remarkable lightness and natural silky-looking shine. Taylor has really beautiful hair and I wanted to make the most of its special texture and create a unique look to show off her beautiful features.”
