Get the Look: Becki Newton at the Elle Women in Hollywood Tribute

becki newton mark makeup

Ugly Betty star Becki Newton drew inspiration from Grace Kelly for her red carpet look at the Elle 16th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute last weekend in Beverly Hills, California.

Celebrity makeup artist Jamie Greenberg explained how to get Becki’s look:

Eyes

“Becki loves to try new things and for this look she was really feeling Grace Kelly with some street appeal!  First, I applied mark Get Bright Hook Up Highlighter in Golden under Becki’s eyes and the lightest shade from mark Super Flip Color Kit in the corner and along the top of the lid to really make her eyes look bright.  I then blended I-mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Cake into the crease and the dark grey shade from mark Super Flip Color Kit in the corner of the eyes. To enhance her eye color, I applied mark Eyemarker Color On Line in Jet, smudging all along the lower lash line.  Finally I applied one coat of mark Make it Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven and topped it with one coat of mark Lash Splash Hook Up Waterproof Mascara in Black to set the lashes and prevent any flaking.”

Face

“I applied mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup in Honey and set just the T-zone area with mark Matte-nificent Oil-Absorbing Powder in Golden Honey to prevent any unnecessary shine.  I also applied mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush Custom Color Palette in Hush Baby right above Becki’s cheeks to give a fresh highlight.  I finished her cheeks by smudging mark Just Pinched Instant Blush Tint in Nude and Cheeky right on the apples of her cheeks, carefully blending up to her hair line.”

Lips

“To finish off her look, I used mark Dew Drenched Moisturlicious Lip Color in Mist on her lips, with a light coating of mark Pro Gloss Hook Up Plumping Lip Shine in Swell.

Get the Look: Marley Shelton at the Untitled Premier

marley shelton mark makeup

Actress (and new mom!) Marley Shelton shined in mark cosmetics at the premier of Untitled in Los Angeles last weekend. Celebrity makeup artist Mai Quynh gave us the scoop on how she created Marley’s smoky-eyed look:

Eyes

“Marley was wearing a deep navy dress by Tibi, so I wanted to give her a complimentary sexy, smoky eye to go with it. I swept on I-mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Night Owl layered with Corset from the lash line to the crease. I then blended the shadows upwards towards her brows. For a little extra drama, I lined the inner rim of her eyes with mark Eyemarker Color On Line in Jet and then smudged I-mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Corset and Night Owl along the lower lash line. Finally, I used two coats of mark Lash Splash Hook Up Waterproof Mascara in Black.”

Face

“I used mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup in Golden to even out her skin tone, dabbing mark Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer in Light/Medium around her nose and under her eyes. I set her foundation with mark Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation in Honey and then dusted mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder in Pro Golden to her cheeks, chin and forehead to bring out her natural glow.”

Lips

“Because I wanted to keep the emphasis on Marley’s dark, smoked out eyes, I kept her lips a more subtle shade by using mark Dew Drenched Moisturlicious Lip Color in Skinny Dip.”

How to Get Lauren Conrad’s Makeup Look

lauren conrad makeup

Back in 1987, I was OBSESSED with a lipstick from Shiseido called Crimson Pink. My 16-year-old self never left the house without it.

Sadly for me that shade has been long discontinued, but Crimson Pink instantly came to mind when I saw this image of Lauren Conrad at the 6th Annual Hollywood Style Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday where she presented the Style Award to mark Celebrity Stylist Britt Bardo.

Lauren’s fresh-faced and super trendy look can be recreated thanks to celebrity makeup artist Amy Nadine’s beauty secrets:

Inspiration

“In honor of stylist Britt Bardo, Lauren mixed rocker-chic with a girly-glam! Her floral bubble dress was paired with studded punk-inspired pumps and her braided half-up hair-do contrasted perfectly with her hot pink lips.”

Face

“For her cheeks, I applied mark Just Pinched Instant Blush Tint in Cheeky, a perfect true pink cream blush, on the apples of her cheeks. I then dusted mark Twinklebelle in Rose, a shimmery pearlized powder, above her cheekbones and along her collar bone and shoulders to give her skin an overall youthful glow.”

Lips

“To get Lauren’s bold lip, I filled in her entire lip with mark Kissink Lip Tintmarker in Berry Bitten. This lip stain is a favorite of mine and Lauren’s as it lasts all night without every being dry or flaky. Finally, I added a top coat of mark Lip Exotics Lip Lacquer Hook Up in Pop to give her pink lips a luscious, wet, finish.”

Eyes

“To balance out Lauren’s pink lip, I applied a thick line of mark Get In Line Hook Up Liquid Waterproof Eyeliner in Painted Black. I wanted to keep the emphasis on her winged-out cat eyes, so I left her lower lash line undefined, except for a coat of mark Make It Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven applied to her top and bottom lashes.”

Get the Look: Lauren Conrad Makeup

lauren-conrad-makeup-photo

I have a special place in my heart for Lauren Conrad not only because Bree and Bailey are obsessed with The Hills, but because she gave a shout-out to Makeup Bag in her mark video earlier this year. Also, she is so dang cute!

Earlier this week, Lauren launched her new line LC Lauren Conrad at Kohl’s in Los Angeles, CA. I got the scoop from celebrity makeup artist Amy Nadine on how she created Lauren Conrad’s feminine yet edgy look:

Face

“I started by powdering Lauren’s entire face with mark Matte-nificent Oil-Absorbing Powder in Natural/Buff, and then lightly dusted the apples of her cheeks with her favorite, mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush in Hush Baby. To add more definition to her cheekbones, I added a contouring layer of mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder in Bronze.”

Eyes

“Lauren never strays from her signature winged-out cat eyes, so to add some instant drama, I complimented them with a black ‘smoky under-eye’. Blending is key for this look and edges should be smeared to add depth. I started by lining her eyes with mark Get in Line Waterproof Liquid Liner in Painted Black. Then I used mark Eyemarker Color On Line in Jet a few millimeters past the outside corners of her lower lash lines. I drew a thick line that became thinner as I dragged it inward, stopping 3/4 of the length of her eye. I then smudged it gently with my pinky finger to smoke it out. Next, I took my mark Eyeliner Brush and dipped it in mark I-Mark Custom Eye Shadow in Corset dusting it on top of the line a couple times to make the original line even thicker. Then I coated her lashes with mark Make It Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven.”

Lips

“I completed her look by applying mark Dew Drenched Moisturlicious Lip Color in Skinny Dip followed by mark Glow Baby Glow Hook Up Lip Gloss in m.powerment Gold for a glossy, shimmery finish.”
