What’s in My Shower: September Edition

whats-in-my-shower-sept

I  can’t believe tomorrow will be October 1st and I haven’t shown you what’s in my shower for September yet!

Ojon Hydrating Thickening Shampoo

I’m always looking for ways to add more volume to my hair and this Ojon shampoo is really good. After lathering, leave on hair for one minute to allow “plumpers” to penetrate. I really have seen a difference in my hair’s volume!

Kiehl’s Superbly Restorative Argan Dry Oil

So technically I don’t use this Kiehl’s Argan Dry Oil in the shower, but I use it as soon as I step out. My skin has had a difficult time transitioning from the humid Hawaii air to the dry desert air here in Nevada and this oil has been miraculous. Can also be used on hair!

Aveeno Nourish + Volume Shampoo & Conditioner

I love when I find a reasonably priced shampoo & conditioner that really gets the job done. This Aveeno volumizing shampoo & conditioner works great, smells great and has a great price!

Mario Badescu Botanical Facial Gel

If oil is an issue for your skin, this Mario Badescu Botanical Facial Gel is the cleanser for you! The alpha-hydroxy formula helps to keep pores clear while the non-foaming gel cleanser removes makeup, dirt and oil without drying skin.

MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator

I fell in love with this MAC Volcanic Ash exfoliator last year when it first came out in the tub version. Only problem was, IT GOT EVERYWHERE! My shower and/or sink ended up a yucky black mess after I used it. This month it comes out in a new tube version and I couldn’t be happier. No dipping into a tub making a huge mess— now I just squeeze, apply and rinse for beautifully soft skin.

Mario Badescu AHA Botanical Body Soap

mario-badescu-aha-body-soap

This week we’re spending time in Monterey, California while the kids are on spring break.

Monterey is only five hours by car from our home in Northern Nevada, which means one thing to me: PACK ALL THE LIQUIDS I WANT! I get a ridiculous amount of pleasure packing huge bottles of shampoo, conditioner, face wash, body wash and cosmetics. It’s more fun than a day at Six Flags.

It’s kind of like my own internal revenge against the TSA’s liquid restrictions and all those times I’ve had to fly to New York for three days with only a ziplock  full of beauty products. (Which means I was forced to use the hotel soap because when it comes to choosing shampoo or body wash over lack of space in the ziplock, shampoo wins every time.)

Not this week, my friends. This week my skin’s aglow from my favorite Mario Badescu AHA Botanical Body Soap (a full EIGHT OUNCE bottle!). Packed with fresh fruit extracts to exfoliate skin (don’t use this on your face), this cleanser works overtime to keep the tiny bumps on the back of my arms at bay.

It has a gentle scent and rinses away clean, leaving my skin super soft and smooth.

Mario Badescu AHA Botanical Body Soap is available online at MarioBadescu.com for $8.

I also love the Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel. You can read about that here.

Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel

mariobadescu-enzume-gel

This Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel is so gentle and effective, I can’t get enough of it. It smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling super clean without being dry. It has papaya extracts and alpha hydroxy acids to help break down dulling build-up, leaving skin fresh and healthy.

On top of that, it’s only $12 for this 8oz bottle.

This has been my favorite cleanser for several weeks now and I can’t see that changing any time soon…
