Imagine our surprise when we spotted a MAC store in Paris (not the same Pro store we were at yesterday) with a new, splashy collection called Manish Arora decorating the exterior windows.

We only took one image of the collection before the shopkeeper kicked us out—telling us something like, “Oh no you don’t, young lady. Do not go snapping that flash in here. Who do you think you are? Now get out!”

Only, we’re not quite certain that is what she said because she was speaking in French.

Hopefully this is not just an international release because we must have that hot pink lipstick!

Yesterday we arrived in Paris around noon and went straight to the MAC Pro store for an interview with MAC Senior Artist, Patrick Eichler.

New York-based Patrick was here in Paris for Fashion Week and was right in the midst of pulling colors for the Chloe show (where he created a fresh-faced look on the runway models) when he stopped to chat with us for a bit.

Between answering our questions and directing his staff on color choices for the scene at the tents, Patrick managed to give us a full report on upcoming trends. “Spring 2009 is going to be a season of contrast,” he told us. “With contour on the face and cheeks, you’re able to create the look you want while still maintaining a fresh, clean appeal.”

One of Patrick’s favorite bronzer is MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Duo that he buffs with his fingertips into the cheekbones, at the cupid’s bow part of your upper lip, along the bridge of the nose and even down the middle of the calves to give legs sexy definition. Overall, this highlighting effect gives the face a “lit from within” look that is perfect for day or night.

If he uses a brush for application, the MAC #136 is his favorite, giving him just the right amount of coverage with an even application.

While Patick was telling us about the fabulous looks he had seen at Parish Fashion Week, Nadine and Cailin were busy getting makeovers with Mouss and Baby, two of the store’s talented artists.
