Yesterday I was traveling so I’m a day behind on my Oscar beauty updates, so forgive me if you’ve already seen these looks.

carpet, complimented by an effortlessly elegant, modern updo designed by stylist Craig Gangi.

Gangi, inspired by the graceful off-the-shoulder look, created an updo highlighting softly waved texture accenting healthy hair with natural-looking shine. He first applied argan oil-infused Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream to add moisture and give hair a soft hold that was smooth as well as frizz-free and static-free.

After blow-drying hair straight, Gangi used a medium sized curling iron to create loose, natural waves. He then pulled strands back, leaving just enough hair at the nape of the neck to create a small ponytail, and shaped a loose, undone textured bun.

To add a touch of drama, he went back to weave three small braids with the remaining hair, then again braided the three with each other. Finally he circled the braid around the bun. After pinning the style, he sprayed Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray to hold the look in place without stiffness, and misted the final updo with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray for additional boost of red carpet shine.

Celebrity makeup artist Sara Glick created a “very soft, neutral look with bronze undertones” for Anna Kendrick using her favorite Dior eyeshadows and mascara: Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Sunset Cafe and Incognito and DiorShow Unlimited Mascara.

I’ll admit this packaging caught my eye before I even knew what was inside: the chic white compact is so sleek and impossibly French that it earns prime real estate in my handbag by default.

The beautiful white container houses Crème de Rose Lip Balm SPF 10, packed with lip-softening ingredients and a gorgeous rose scent.

I’m super intrigued by this new primer from Dior – its packaging boasts a brush applicator, something not typically seen in the packaging of its competitors.

The formula utilizes photo-smart pigments with photochromic properties to create a light, beautifully lit-from-within complexion. The pigments are adaptable (code: the formula is sheer) and the formula contains radiance-boosting skincare goodies. The product is billed as a primer, but I’d be willing to bet that it would double well as a tinted moisturizer.

Inspired by Aurora Borealis crystal created by Swarovski for Dior in the mid-50’s, the Dior 2009 Holiday Look offers precious colors enhanced with a shimmering sheen.

The star of this collection is the Crystal Gloss Jewel ($80), an ultra-luxurious pendant adorned with Swarovski elements stones. Contained inside the pendant is a shimmery iridescent gloss.

Also in this collection is the 5-Colors Iridescent Eyeshadow Palette ($56) in Smoky Crystal and new shades of Rouge Dior and Rouge Dior Crème Gloss.
