Avon and Cosmo on a Frizz-Free REVOLUTION!

frizz free revolution

Avon and Cosmopolitan, the world’s largest selling magazine for young women, are hitting the road this summer with a nationwide Frizz-Free Revolution Tour.

Scheduled to hit five major cities, the tour will make its way banishing bad hair days by offering Lotus Shield blow-outs. Avon Global Stylist Advisor and celebrity hair stylist, Tippi Shorter will be giving the crowd expert tips about fighting frizz, while the Avon street team hands out samples of Lotus Shield.

Advance Techniques Frizz Control Lotus Shield is an innovative treatment that mimics the effects of the lotus leaf and forms a humidity-resistant barrier on the hair’s surface to control frizz – even at 97% humidity. After just one use of Lotus Shield, frizz is eliminated and hair looks and feels soft, smooth and sleek. After one week of use, hair is more manageable and controlled for up to three days.

Don’t miss the Frizz-Free Revolution in your town:

  • Houston, TX – July 19, 11am-9pm
  • Miami, FL – July 24, 11am-9pm
  • Atlanta, GA – July 28, 11am-9pm
  • Philadelphia, PA – August 3, 11am-9pm
  • New York, NY – August 5, 11am-9pm

Lotus Shield is $12 and will be available beginning in late July 2010 exclusively through Avon Representatives. To locate an Avon Representative, call 1-800-FOR-AVON or visit www.avon.com.

Avon Advance Techniques Volumizing Mousse & Hair Spray

avon-styling

Several months ago I asked Makeup Bag intern Monica Leitner to try out some samples of Avon Advance Techniques hair products.

The funny thing is, after reading Monica’s reviews I had to hit up my local Avon lady to get my own samples of these products. Both the Avon Advance Techniques Volumizing Mousse and Avon Advance Techniques Hair Spray are currently available for $4.00.

The thing that most struck me about Avon Advance Techniques Volumizing Mousse was its texture, as many products on the market labeled “mousse” err toward more of a “foam” in my book. This Avon product offered the best of both worlds: the airy weightlessness of a foam combined with a creamy, whipped mousse consistency (think mousse from the mid ‘90s) and a delicious, Tropical Kool-Aid scent to boot! After styling, my hair had a little more body, more control and was completely devoid of any stiffness or stickiness.

The Avon Advance Techniques Hair Spray has a super yummy salon smell, and kept my hair full, controlled and soft without ever feeling sticky or dry. Even after a day of donning a satin headband (very Blair Waldorf) that typically smashes down my hair with no hopes of revival, my hair stayed lifting and tamed. A keeper!

Avon Advance Techniques products are available online at avon.com.

Fergie to Launch New AVON Fragrance

fergie-photo

Fergie is the latest celebrity to join forces with AVON for a new fragrance set to launch next fall, WWD announced today.

AVON has notoriously signed many high-profile names in the last several years including Derek Jeter and Reese Witherspoon. Fergie, whose real name is Stacy Ferguson, is the lead singer for the Black Eyed Peas, a popular hip hop band with recent Billboard Top 100 hit songs, “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling.”

“I love the roster of women Avon has supported,” Fergie told WWD in a phone interview from Auckland, New Zealand, where she just completed the Eastern leg of a world tour with the Peas to promote their latest album, “The E.N.D.” “Each one is completely different, but they are all wonderful, strong women who have a purpose. It was very important to me to bring what I have to the table. I’m a bit more rock ’n’ roll than some of the other artists, and Avon has really allowed my personality to come through.”
