What’s in My Shower: February 2011

It’s been a while since I gave you a peek into my shower. Now that I think about it, it’s been a while since I’ve done ANYTHING here at Makeup Bag.

How are you?!

I’m gearing up for an exciting weekend in Los Angeles where I’ll be attending the Independent Spirit Awards with a group of beauty bloggers. The trip is being sponsored by Aveeno and RecycleBank and includes things like spa services, lunch with Dr. Jessica Wu and backstage access to the Independent Spirit Awards.

I’ll be tweeting from the road, so follow me on Twitter for updates on how my weekend’s going. Hopefully I’ll meet some friendly celebrities!

Now, here’s the products I’ve been enjoying in my shower this month:

Bed Head by TIGI Colour Goddess Shampoo & Conditioner

I picked up a sample of this Bed Head by TIGI shampoo and conditioner on my trip to New York last month. I love how it smells like warm marshmallows and leaves my hair feeling soft and clean. The key benefits of this Colour Combat line is the Colour Lock Down Technology that helps seal and protect color while repairing damaged hair. I’m also obsessed with the spray-on leave-in conditioner, which detangles and moisturizes without weighing down my hair.

Dove Go Fresh Cucumber & Green Tea Body Wash

I can’t get enough of this cucumber-scented body wash. Here in Hawaii where it’s hot and humid, two showers a day are a must (especially if you work in a restaurant). I love how this body wash leaves my skin feeling refreshed and squeaky clean without leaving any residue.

Clarisonic Refining Skin Polish

Did you know the Clarisonic PLUS has a body brush head in addition to the face brush head? This key feature makes the $30 price difference (between the classic Clarisonic and the PLUS) totally worthwhile. I’m obsessing over this Refining Skin Polish and feel like a new girl every time I step out of the shower.

Aveeno Stress Relief Body Wash

I purchased this lavender-scented body wash months before Aveeno invited me to participate in their blogger weekend, but it is my favorite bath product of the moment. After a long day at work, I sometimes like to relax in the tub and soak away the day’s stresses. This scent of this body wash really does help me wind down and leaves my skin feeling soft and clean.

Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel

This Dermalogica foaming gel cleanser is gentle and soap-free. It thoroughly cleans my skin without disturbing its natural moisture balance. And the best part? It’s fragrance free!

What’s in My Shower: September Edition

whats-in-my-shower-sept

I  can’t believe tomorrow will be October 1st and I haven’t shown you what’s in my shower for September yet!

Ojon Hydrating Thickening Shampoo

I’m always looking for ways to add more volume to my hair and this Ojon shampoo is really good. After lathering, leave on hair for one minute to allow “plumpers” to penetrate. I really have seen a difference in my hair’s volume!

Kiehl’s Superbly Restorative Argan Dry Oil

So technically I don’t use this Kiehl’s Argan Dry Oil in the shower, but I use it as soon as I step out. My skin has had a difficult time transitioning from the humid Hawaii air to the dry desert air here in Nevada and this oil has been miraculous. Can also be used on hair!

Aveeno Nourish + Volume Shampoo & Conditioner

I love when I find a reasonably priced shampoo & conditioner that really gets the job done. This Aveeno volumizing shampoo & conditioner works great, smells great and has a great price!

Mario Badescu Botanical Facial Gel

If oil is an issue for your skin, this Mario Badescu Botanical Facial Gel is the cleanser for you! The alpha-hydroxy formula helps to keep pores clear while the non-foaming gel cleanser removes makeup, dirt and oil without drying skin.

MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator

I fell in love with this MAC Volcanic Ash exfoliator last year when it first came out in the tub version. Only problem was, IT GOT EVERYWHERE! My shower and/or sink ended up a yucky black mess after I used it. This month it comes out in a new tube version and I couldn’t be happier. No dipping into a tub making a huge mess— now I just squeeze, apply and rinse for beautifully soft skin.
