CHANEL Temporary Skin Art

First seen at the CHANEL Spring/Summer 2010 RTW runway show, CHANEL has now introduced the limited edition Les Trompe L’Oeil de CHANEL Temporary Skin Art.

In other words: TATTOOS, my friends!!

Peter Philips, Global Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup, says, “For the show, I wanted to play with the Chanel symbols; pearls, chains and wheat, as well as blossoms and small swallows that announce the arrival of spring. I focused on a natural makeup look with chic beige tones and a slight tough of rebellion: the tattoos!”

Bree and I, along with two of her friends, applied the tattoos last night before heading out to dinner for Bree’s 18th birthday celebration.

While the teenagers all selected swallows for their body art, I chose the CHANEL logo (shown above.) What do you think?!

Les Trompe L’Oeil de CHANEL Temporary Skin Art ($75 for a package of five sheets, includes 55 total designs) will be available for a limited time exclusively at CHANEL boutiques and makeup studios and online at

  • I prefer “the real thing” when it comes to tattoos – though those temporary thingies sure are fun to fool around with, like popping glow-in-the-dark kiddie temp tats all over your face for halloween… ;o)

  • How cool! but a bit expensive…What shade of nailpolish are you wearing? It’s beautiful!

    • Hi Mathilde,
I’m wearing China Glaze Heli-Yum. I love this color– so glossy! My mani is still perfect after 3 days!

  • Hi Svennika, you’re right. Expensive! But fun!

  • Awww, these are really charming! I love the detail in them and how you can easily take these off for when you want to try something new.

  • OMGAH, it looks so cool! I believe it’s a bit expensive as well, but it’s awesome!

  • Chanel copied this idea from an unknown designer that applied for a job there. They didn’t give him the job and then stole his beautiful idea!
