Ignore the hair, people. It’s been a rough week!
Seriously, I tried to fancy up my hair, I really did. After being sick for the last few days, my flat, lifeless hair really started to perk up when I curled it with the flat iron. It just didn’t perk in the right way.
I am quite pleased, however, that I managed to curl my entire head while simultaneously having a phone conversation with my husband. I’m pretty sure he had no idea what I was up to.
Anyway, the hair is a dud but I’m really liking the bright pop of color on my eyes.
I intended to make this a mostly gold look (at the request of several readers), but after being sick for three days I definitely needed more color.
This eyeshadow quad from the CHANEL holiday collection is light and pretty. I love the pastel shades and wanted to create my look around these shadows. I covered my entire lid with the pale gold shade and then added the turquoise hue from my lash line to the crease. The shimmery shades are so beautiful and sheer.
Ask any beauty junkie about this pencil and I guarantee she has it in her makeup bag! I’m not even kidding that this bright blue eyeliner will make any pair of eyes look better, no matter what their color. Run this waterproof liner along the inner rim of your lower lashes for eye-popping color.
This limited-edition shadow is no longer available but I’m in love with the purple shade on the right (shown above). I used this along my lash line to really make the bright blue liner and turquoise shadow stand out.
This highlighting powder from the CHANEL Holiday 2009 collection is so pretty I hate to even use it! The warm gold, bronze and copper shades add dimension and light to any skin tone.
On my lips I’m wearing CHANEL Aqualumière lip gloss in Canari (again!) as I’m thoroughly obsessed.
Bree’s Look, Day 5:
Bree opted for her signature smoky-eyed look for today’s feature. I have to admit, smoked out eyes look great on her and she knows the routine so well she can whip this look out in five minutes flat.
This new offering from CoverGirl takes the guess-work out of creating smoky eyes. Bree used the lighter shade as a creamy base color and layered with other shadow, but this is easily a stand-alone eye product.
Eighteen eye shadows, four blushes and four lip glossed make up this Napoleon Perdis Party Set Palette. The outside case is covered in sequin making it feel like the perfect party accessory. Bree used the two darkest shades in the palette (gray and black with gold flecks) to finish off her smoky eyes. She added a hint of the lightest blush and lipgloss shades to complete her holiday look.
Bailey’s Look, Day 5:
Bailey managed to get her gold look spot-on with gilded eyes and pinky cheeks and lips.
Using the two lightest shades in this Lancôme eyeshadow quad, Bailey created a light and pretty look that she finished off with dramatic eyelashes.
Revlon Fantasy Lengths Lashes in Lush ($6.50)
I love that these lashes are the exact replica of my favorite shu uemura Partial Soft Cross Lashes at one third of the price! The sections make them super easy to apply and very realistic-looking.
I seriously love what Avon has been up to these days. From Reese Witherspoon to Lauren Conrad to, now, Ungaro—Avon continues to be ahead of the game! This fabulous face powder in Runway Pink is two-toned, allowing for selective coverage. Or, as Bailey did, you can swirl your brush over both colors and get a pretty pink glow.
It’s funny how we have several dozen holiday lipsticks and glosses to choose from for these holiday looks, but we all keep grabbing for this sheer pink NYX gloss!
