Summer Makeup Bag Contest: Mandi’s Makeup

summer makeup bag contest mandi

Today’s Summer Makeup Bag Contest entry is from Mandi who says, “The makeup bag pictured is the one I carry in my purse for everyday touch-ups. It’s actually a pencil case but I loved cupcakes. It makes me smile and is super feminine and cute!”

Here’s what’s inside Mandi’s Makeup Bag:

Large Kabuki Brush from Spa Tools: I use this for everything from powder to bronzer.
Spatools double ended eyeshadow brush: has a sponge end (rarely use) and a fluffly round brush end which I use for my all over lid color
Ecotools Angled Brush: For eyebrows and powder eyeliner
Ecotools Brow and Lash Brush: Love this for my brows and smoothing out my lashes ecotools brushes are GREAT and friendly for the environment.
Maybelline Eyelash Curler: Okay so I have had this for loooong time..maybe to long but I love it and it curls better than any new one I have tried!
Lisa Watier Eyeshadow: (coral color: actual name rubbed off because I have used it so much and for so long! great stuff) I use this as a blush actually and I top it with my highlighter
Jane Aguaceuticals Mousse Eyeshadow in Silver Dollar: I use this as an eyeshadow base and brow highlighter it gives a great all over shimmer and really accentuates the brow bone as well as keeps eyeshadow in place all day with NO creasing yay!
Revlon Color Stay SPF 15 Foundation with Soft Flex: 220 Natural Beige. I love this foundation, great coverage, great color selection, I have the dry skin formula. It stands its own against other expensive department store foundation (which I have tried MANY of).
Cover Girl Tanfastic Bronzer in Solstice: I LOVE this drugstore bronzer. I have used Guerlain, Bobbi Brown, MAC, Rimmel, and Physicians Formula. This one works best for my skin tone above all of them. Its cheap, gives a nice glow without looking orange at all. I have heard they may have discontinued this which I hope is untrue!
Wet ‘n’ Wild Ultimate Expressions eyeshadow palette in Sandcastle: This palette is super pigmented and has a variety of really pretty neutral tones great for creating a variety of eye looks from day to night. When I go on vacation this is the only palette I need
Revlon Superlustrous Lipgloss in Life’s a Peach: great nudy, peach color that has just the right amount of shine and shimmer. I use this everyday for a glossy shimmery glow. Its not to sticky and it actually lasts quite a while for a lipgloss!
Covergirl Pink Chiffon eye shadow: I use this (along with Shell from MAC) as a cheaper highlighter when I am running low on my MAC. It gives a nice dewy glow on the tops of your cheekbones and along your nose.
L’oreal Double Extend Tubes Mascara in Blackest Black: I cannot say enough good things about this magical mascara. I have blonde short eyelashes and this not only adds volume but adds MAJOR length. Pretty much as close to falsies as I can get. I constantly get asked what mascara I use when I am wearing this.
Christian Dior Diorshow Blackout Mascara: I have been a diorshow addict for quite sometime and I always come back to this for dramatic going out lashes for a night on the town.
L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara: I use this as a back up to my Diorshow and extend tubes. Its a good false eyelash effect mascara for a good price.
Almay Liquid eyeliner: its a good drugstore liquid eyeliner. super black. glides nicely. Pretty inexpensive.
Cetaphil Daily Moisturizer: I have pretty dry skin so I wear this at night along with Alba’s un petroleum and also I mix a tiny bit with my revlon in the morning. Great stuff!

Thanks for sharing with us, Mandi! I need to get my hands on that CoverGirl bronzer!

ZOYA Matte Velvet Winter

Zoya_mattevelvet2_winter_trio_RGB_web

The incredible Zoya MATTEVELVET shade collection has been expanded with three new LIMITED EDITION beauties. Get all of the color, none of shine with MATTEVELVET, Zoya’s exclusive blend of matte base and subtle shimmer resulting in utterly wearable and truly stylish nail polish.

The new colors we’ll see this month are:

  • Savita (ZP504) – plum gray matte shimmer
  • Harlow (ZP505) – rose matte shimmer
  • Veruschuka (ZP506) – evergreen matte shimmer

It must be noted that matte polishes are extremely susceptible to chipping. Follow these tips for best results:

MATTEVELVET nail color by Zoya is not intended to be worn with a base coat, top coat or speed dryer of any kind. Due to the unique matte formulation, color is not as long-wearing as traditional nail color. A completely clean, dry nail surface yields the best results for matte nail color wear. For best results make sure to always prepare nail with Zoya Remove + (3-in-1 nail polish remover, nail plate cleaner and new color prep.) prior to applying color.

Zoya MATTEVELVET Winter is available beginning September 15, or you can pre-order NOW online at Zoya.com.
