Bobbi Brown Nude Eye Palette

bobbi brown nude eye palette

“Nude makeup doesn’t mean monochromatic, barely-there makeup. It means makeup that’s right for your skin,” says Bobbi Brown.

Fall’s must-have eye palette takes you effortlessly from day to night with a sophisticated and universally flattering selection of nude shadows in three different textures: soft matte, lightly pearlized, and metallic high-shimmer. Three eye shadow duos come in a customizable 3 Pan Palette, which can also be filled with your choice of any Bobbi Brown eye shadow or blush shades.

The Bobbi Brown Nude Eye Palette is part of the Fall 2009 Nudes Collection currently available at Bobbi Brown counters nationwide. Makeup Bag intern Monica got her hands on this palette and here’s what she has to say:

“I’m in love! Honestly, few things have made me as instantly happy as the mere sight of this palette – I practically want to sleep with it under my pillow! The shades aren’t the typical beiges, taupes and and creams you’d expect to find in a “nude” palette, but a gorgeous selection of neutral shades ranging from light to dark. The shimmer, matte and metallic shades never skew too cool or too warm, so they work together beautifully to create a plethora of neutral eye looks. The texture and color payoff are superb, and the compact is refillable when you (gasp!) hit the pan.”

Summer Makeup Bag Contest: Lauren’s Makeup Bag

summer makeup bag contest lauren

Next up in our Summer Makeup Bag Contest series is Lauren.

Lauren is using a most adorable Clinique GWP Makeup Bag that she got from Nordstrom last summer. “I love it because its big enough to hold everything for a weekend trip, but still small enough to keep on my bathroom counter,” says Lauren. ” And you cant beat free!”

Here’s what’s in Lauren’s Makeup Bag:

My all time favorite multi-purpose beauty product – Aquaphor! This stuff is the BEST remedy for chapped lips, or any dry skjn irritation or flakiness. For my moisturizer, Kinerase Clear Skin Moisture Light is my favorite. Its light, while still giving enough moisture, and multitasks against blemishes (which I still get and I’m almost 30!) and skin aging. Also, I never leave the house without a layer of sunscreen to prevent wrinkles and sun damage. The new La Roche Posay Anthelios 60 Ultra Light Fluid is perfect under makeup, especially if you have combo/oily skin. This stuff does NOT feel like sunscreen – its much more like a primer. The finish is completely matte.
For foundation, I tend to use fuller coverage, long-wearing makeup, but dont want the heaviness, so Estee Lauder Double Wear Light is so perfect. The Double Wear concealer that goes with it is great for covering blemishes too since it stays put. For dark under-eye circles, I use Laura Mercier Secret Concealer, which is a peachy-beige color that really camouflages the blue/purple circles I tend to get (especially with my fair skin). I top it off with Laura Mercier loose setting powder.

As for color, I tend to keep it neutral and natural looking. Benefit’s Dandelion is just the right shade of pink for my cheeks, but sometimes I top it with LORAC Luminizing powder. If I want something a little deeper, I use Clinique’s True Bronze pressed powder bronzer. On my eyes I’ll start with a coat of MAC Paint in Base Light, and then top with Clinique’s eye shadow duo in starstruck/golden lynx, or MAC pigment in cocomotion. For a little more definition, I’ll line my lower lashes with Make Up For Ever aqua eyes liner, and smudge with a q-tip. Finally I’ll finish with a coat of Clinique Lash Power mascara (this is the “tube”-type mascara that is waterproof up to a certain temperature, then it comes off your lashes in tiny “tubes”, its the best invention!), and a coat of Hourglass lip gloss in Imagine. This is the best (but also one of the more expensive!) lip gloss. But its long lasting without any stickiness! And NOW I am ready to face the world!

Thank you, Lauren! I have to agree with you on the new La Roche Posay Anthelios 60 Ultra Light Fluid– I’ve been using this since July and I can’t believe it’s actually a sunscreen, much less SPF 60. The texture is so light and watery, it really does feel like a foundation primer.
