Last Saturday, while I was in New York, I spent the day getting pampered with some of my favorite beauty friends: Julia from All About the Pretty, Amber from Beauty Blogging Junkie and Daneen from Spoiled Pretty.

We stopped into Dashing Diva where we all tried the new Gelife Manicure, a soak-off UV gel system that claims to leaves nails super glossy and maintenance-free for weeks.

At Dashing Diva, I was given two shades to choose from: cool pink or warm pink. I chose cool pink, the lighter of the two, but then asked for a second coat of warm pink when I saw that cool pink was looking more clear than pink on my nails. The application was as simple as painting on the solution like nail polish and letting it cure for 2 minutes under the UV lights. Five layers and thirty minutes later, I walked out with natural-looking, glossy nails.

Today is day 4 since my Gelife Manicure and my nails are still perfect. I’ll keep you posted on how they look as the weeks progress.

It’s been a little slow-posting around here this past week. I made it home to Kauai from New York on Sunday night and I’ve been trying to get myself back on track with work, home and Makeup Bag.
