Yesterday, for Father’s Day, my husband wanted to go fishing at one of our favorite Kauai beaches: Polihale.

If you ever have an opportunity to visit this island, Polihale is one spot you truly can’t miss. It’s a total pain in the butt to get there (it’s a 5 mile trek off the main drag down a dirt road full of pot holes) but I can guarantee when you arrive, you’ll be in awe of the beauty.

We pulled our truck right up to the shoreline and spent a peaceful afternoon watching the kids play (sans Bree who left for Dallas, Texas this weekend to visit my sister) and fishing.

I’ve received several requests for pictures of my tall, dark, handsome husband but he’s a tricky one to catch on camera. This shot of him setting his pole will have to do.
