Alicia Keys was my favorite look of the BET Awards last Sunday night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

I was beyond thrilled just now when I got my hands on the how-to for Alicia’s look:

Celebrity makeup artist, Ashunta Sheriff, created a Moroccan inspired look for Alicia Keys based on her recent trip for the Mawaline Festival. Ashunta gave Alicia flawless skin and coral lips reminiscent of a Moroccan Paradise.

Ashunta prepped Alicia’s skin with Laura Mercier Mineral Primer, a superfine, lightweight and translucent powder that primes the skin prior to foundation application for an even, mistake-proof surface ($30, available at www.lauramercier.com)

Alicia’s beautiful coral pout was created using BeingTRUE Satin Lip Shine in Luscious, a dazzling coral. My other favorite looks of the night were Zoe Saldana, Tyra Banks and Beyonce:

Zoe Saldana rocked matte skin and berry-stained lips at the BET Awards in Los Angeles last Sunday.

Tyra Banks accented her infamous green eyes with mile-long lashes and nude lips.

Beyonce’s colorful mini dress meant barely-there makeup for the superstar. I’m loving the silver mani.

This Madras dress from GAP is so summery I can hardly stand it! The mix of orange, red and pink hues is so sunny and bright, and I love the contrast of the print with the ultra-straight lines of the linen.

Lauren Conrad’s signature liquid-lined eyes are often attributed to this pint-sized mark On the Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner.

As a general rule, I can take or leave liquid liners, but I have to say, her eyes do always look amazing! The formula itself is said to be long lasting and the included brush appears to be ultra-fine.

Back in April I told you about the Prescriptives Summer 2009 Color Collection: Exhilarating.

My favorite products of the collection are the Exhilarating Lip Glosses. They’re guava flavored and come in three flattering shades: Mango, Pink Grapefruit and Guava.

Makeup Bag intern Monica tried the Papaya Exhilarating Lipcolor and was pleasantly surprised with its shine and shimmer:

“I’ll admit I approached this lipstick with a bit of trepidation (read: fear!), as it looked like a relatively loud coral in the tube. I am relieved to share that the color is indeed coral, but also surprisingly wearable. What I was afraid would look orangey turned out to be a true, warm coral with enough pink to counteract any possible ruddiness. The consistency was excellent, offering extremely comfortable wear and soft shine and just a hint of shimmer. So pretty for summer!”
