Current Obsession: La Mer The Treatment Powder Foundation SPF 15

Thanks to my friend Annie at Blogdorf Goodman I met and fell in love with La Mer foundations a few years ago.

For full coverage foundation, nothing beats the luxurious, silky feel of La Mer fluid and creme foundations with light-capturing gemstones that seem to make imperfections disappear right before my eyes.

Now, there’s a new powder foundation joining the club and I’m in love.

The Treatment Powder Foundation SPF 15 has the same great coverage and light-capturing qualities its fluid and creme cousins, yet the no-fuss powder formula makes applying foundation twice as easy. I can whip out a fluffy brush and have flawless-looking skin in 8 seconds flat (I counted!). It’s available in eight shades.

The only downfall to this new favorite is the price ($95), but sometimes it’s worth it to splurge on an amazing product.

La Mer The Treatement Powder Foundation SPF 15 is available beginning this month (May 2009) at select Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and online at LaMer.com.

  • I love this too!
I am amazed at how it never settles into any lines or pores. It never cakes!
La Mer is pricey addiction but so damn worth it.

  • I’ve got pretty sensitive skin so I’m wondering if this will work for me. Do you know what the active ingredients are for the sunscreen? Also, does it contact bismuth oxichloride. Thanks! :)

  • The active ingredients are Titanium Dioxide 4.90% and Octinoxate 4.50%

I don’t have the full ingredient list in front of me so I’m not sure if it has bismuth… but let me see if I can find out!

  • Thanks a million. I went on La Mer’s site and did the online chat, but they wouldn’t send me the ingredients.

  • Thanks for introducing this product to us! I mostly use powder foundations, since my skin easily reacts with liquid formulas.

I’m so keen on trying this out. We’ll see, if Austria will launch it.

  • I bought this at Saks tonight. The salesgirl seemed annoyed with me because I had a hard time deciding between 3 of the colors…but i felt justified in not rushing to make a quick choice because of the $95 price tag, plus, nobody else was even in line or browsing at the counter. Oh well, sorry…i just had to vent! I ended up buying the Linen shade. :)

  • I have combination/dry skin and found powder foundation tend to get my skin too dry, doesn’t matter how much moisturizer I put on. Can powder foundation provide the same coverage as the liquid foundation? I tried to use a wet sponge with it but it actually make my face look patchy. Should I use a flat kabuki brush?
