Oh Tweezerman, why do you disappoint me so?

I’ve had a fond affection for Tweezerman mani/pedi tools for many, many years. I especially love the FileMate nail files available at Sephora that come in a protective plastic case for just $5. I probably have every pattern and color they’ve ever made and keep them in my purse, my desk, my nightstand, my car… You will rarely find me without a nail file on hand.
The last three files I bought at Sephora have been sadly disappointing, though.
Just look at how ripped up this file is! If you didn’t know any better, you might think this has been the only nail file I’ve used for the last five years.
Looks like I need to find a new fave.

I’m loving the polish…what’s the brand/name? Thanks!

The last set of files I purchased looks exactly the same. I thought it was just a bad batch. I only used each file a few times, and each was destroyed. I actually saw no purpose in the cases, since the files didn’t last long enough to be placed in and out of the cases. Further, after a good filing on one occasion, I couldn’t find a suitable surface on each of the files for a second filing. I agree with you completely: a huge disappointment.

Oh, I know how you feel! I got a really cute one with a case at a beauty supply store and it got ripped up as well. However, I went to Sally’s last week and got a cheapo pink file and a cheapo buffer block, and they are the best ones I have ever used! They might not be as cute as the one in the case, but my nails look a lot better.

You definitely need to try out a glass file. I have one by essie that Ive had for at least 2 years already and it looks brand new. Its about $10, but not bad at all cause you never need to replace it…. except if you dropped it(like i did) then it cracks cause its glass. But I love how it looks brand new all the time, just run it under water and all the nail marks on it will disappear. This sounds like your solution to all the problems you named. hope this helps=]

My Tweezerman did the same thing. I thought it was me, then I went and bought another one. It did the same thing too.

Hello,
Sorry you had such a bad experience with the Tweezerman FileMate. I wanted to let you know that the files have been redesigned and improved. The one you had was an older file.
Tweezerman stands by their products and offers a guarantee. Please call Tweezerman customer service at 1-800-645-3340 and they will replace the damaged file for you.

Wow Maggie! Thank you
I think I already have some of the new ones. I purchased some Tweezerman Pedi files and they are amazing. I’ve used them for over three months and they still look and feel brand new. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!!
