Katie takes Fashion Week (and Tim Gunn) by storm

katie-outfit

Little K is clearly in her element here at New York Fashion Week.

She has been doing a great job of backstage reporting and has even been stalked by paparazzi wanting shots of her sassy little outfits:

The most exciting moment of the day is when she walked out the doors of the main tent and ran right into Project Runway‘s Tim Gunn:

Teen Corner: Gotta Love New York

katie-bryant-park

What better place to spend the day of love in the (in the words of Ms Bradshaw) city of labels and love? And better yet—it’s during New York Fashion Week: The mecca for the fashion obsessed. For those who cannot embrace this affinity, fashion week is like the NFL for football players and the Harvard for the Ivy Leagues. Being here is everything I could every hope for, and so much more!

Here’s a rundown of my first day (Valentine’s day):

Although I arrived to the city at 12 o’clock a.m. I was dying to see Bryant Park so Erika took me down the block to see the tents. It was love at first sight (I even jumped up and down and then got weak in the knees).

We got some beauty sleep and in the morning I headed to the tents to meet Erika for the Adam fashion show. As I was headed backstage, I had my first stellar New York encounter: The YSL models were unloading swag bags in uber cute shiny black bombers!

After I had my first backstage experience, I went to the front of the tents and was greeted by a huge Barbie display. This fashion week is like a big birthday bash for Miss Plastic who turns 50 this year. She got the best present any girl could ever ask for: specially made pink patent leather Christian Louboutin shoes!

Love was definitely in the air!

That night we headed to a fabulous blog party at a rooftop venue. It was hosted by Daily Makeover which I used for my latest hair inspiration.

To top the lovely day off, Erika and I headed to the Magnolia Bakery (Carrie Bradshaw’s fave!) to get a special Valentine’s cupcake:

Although my feet are killing me from running down 5th Avenue in stilettos, New York has me totally smitten. ♥

The country singer, who will be joining Taylor Swift on her Fearless tour this year, has been popping up all over Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Looking super-fit and grown up, Kellie has been seen at the Barbie show:

Backstage Beauty: Adam

Backstage at the Adam show, makeup artist Romy Soleimani created a youthful, colorful face inspired by a Japanese watercolor.

With no strong lines, the candy-ish shades of violet and green blended and faded into one another creating a whimsical, fantasy look. “It’s not a look for everyday,” Romy said, “but we’re definitely seeing more upbeat, fun looks with makeup this season.”
