I like to buy my husband a few practical gifts for Christmas—things that are useful but not necessarily something he’d buy for himself. (Also, just because something is practical doesn’t mean it can’t be luxurious or indulgent!)
Here are a few Makeup Bag picks that are indulgent yet practical:
This Braun Series 7 shaver offers the ultimate shaving experience with outstanding smoothness and comfort. It is the world’s first shaver to use Pulsonic Technology with an active head that oscillates at over 10,000 micro-vibrations per minute to help deliver the closest and most comfortable shave ever (a huge benefit if your man has sensitive skin). Some other great features: A Clean & Renew system that automatically cleans, lubricates, dries and charges the shaver at the touch of a button. Also? It’s pretty.
It’s so hard to convince my husband to wear sunscreen. Unless I apply it to his face myself, he usually goes without (not so good for a man that has spent 80% of the last year in Hawaii). Clinique for Men products are the perfect solution—they are made just for men so my husband won’t feel like he’s pampering himself unnecessarily. No more of this “I’m a man. We don’t wear that stuff.”
And since he’ll like his new regi-MAN (ha) Clinique Liquid Face Wash Extra Strength will keep him away from my CHANEL cleanser (as much as he shies away from creams and lotions, he still reaches for the cleanser at my sink every morning and evening) and will make a nice mate for the Age Defense Hydrator SPF 15.
While this is less practical and more indulgent, I LOVE the idea of this Anthony Logistics Deluxe Weekender. If there’s a man in your life that takes his grooming seriously, this is the gift for him. A Nordstrom exclusive, this luxury weekend bag by leather goods company Morgan Grays comes packed full of men’s grooming essentials from Anthony Logistics for Men.
I don’t like to share my nail clippers. Call me stingy, but I hate to find little nicks in my clippers from careless family members who choose to use them for things like cutting fishing line and CLIPPING BROKEN BRACKETS OFF THEIR BRACES (yes this totally happened and yes it was as horrifying as it sounds). For this reason, everyone here at Makeup Bag HQ has their own pair of nail clippers. Problem is, nobody knows where theirs are (because nobody knows how to put things back where they belong) and so they continue to use (and ruin) mine. The joys of a big family. This Seki Edge Men’s Manicure Set keeps essential manicure tools zipped in a clever little case that hopefully won’t be easy to misplace.
