This weekend I’ve been organizing my office (Stephanie Johnson inspired me to create some order around here dammit) and haven’t left the house all day.
I deep conditioned my hair last night and it’s incredibly silky and soft (I can’t stop touching it) so I thought a soft holiday look would be appropriate.
(Also? I have nowhere to go. Lame, I know.)
I like this holiday look because it’s basically how I wear my makeup every day (with no liner or mascara on the bottom lashes). Call me boring, but, I’m a Capricorn—I like to be predictable.
Here’s the holiday makeup I used to create this look:
I adore the new Colour Surge Eye Shadows Super Shimmer from the CLINIQUE Blackberry Bloom Holiday 2008 collection. I used Black Amethyst on my entire lid and Black Smoke along my upper lash line (over my eye liner). Both of these colors are limited-edition and won’t be around for long.
So there’s good news and bad news about this pencil. Good: AMAZING eye liner. Amazing. Glides on easily and the colors are gorgeous. I’m wearing it in Rave—a deep purple with purple glitter. This is my favorite eye liner pencil, by far. Also, totally amazing. Bad: Rave is sold out on the MAC website. Run to your nearest store and buy six of them. Quick!
I’ve been using this Bobbi Brown Blush in Soft Pink for over ten years. No joke. Only recently did I buy a new one because my original was on its last leg. I couldn’t bear to throw away the container (it’s so old, the packaging is the original all black container without the window) because I feel like it’s an old friend. Through thick and thin, my Bobbi Brown blush has been by my side giving me a “pop” of color when I needed it most.
From the Cremesheen collection, Party Line is a red-toned plum that brightens up my face without looking too “done.” Perfect for a Saturday in the office. (After all, I don’t want my file cabinet to get the wrong idea.)
This mascara simply works. I use the waterproof version and love it.
