As the days get colder and drier, I’ve been turning to my supply of deep conditioners to keep my hair from becoming dry and brittle.
For someone with fine hair, it’s hard to find a deep conditioner that leaves my hair moisturized without leaving it weighed down or feeling dirty.
Over the last couple weeks, I’ve put several to the test and have been pleasantly surprised with the results. Here are a few super-moisturizing conditioners that have been outperforming the other conditioners in my shower:
This night recovery treatment moisturizer from Redken makes deep conditioning so easy. Just apply before bed and wake up to amazingly soft and moisturized hair. (Oh. And don’t worry about a messy pillow; Redken Real Control Overnight Treat absorbs instantly into hair so it won’t transfer onto pillows or sheets.)
When used in conjunction with the Dry Remedy Shampoo and Dry Remedy Conditioner, this Moisturizing Treatment Masque from Aveda is amazing. The smell (as with all Aveda products) is to die for and the three part system gives my hair a healthy shine without weighing it down at all.
Had I not received a sample of this I likely wouldn’t have tried it because my hair is far from frizzy, but my love for this Rene Furterer Myrrhea Anti-Frizz Silkening Mask can’t be denied. I’ll admit, the smell is not the greatest—in fact, I prefer to use this when I shower at night because my morning nose finds the scent rather unpleasant—but who cares? The results are incredible. My hair is left smooth and soft (no flyaways) and super shiny. (I should note: my daughters all agree that this conditioner smells great—so it must just be me.)
Kérastase Masquintenses for Fine Hair is, without a doubt, the Range Rover of deep conditioners. (Supercharged Range Rover. With a 400-hp V8 engine.) I like to dole this out by the teaspoonful so I won’t run out any time soon. The smell is beyond amazing and because it’s formulated for fine hair like mine, it just works.
