Beauty Bloggers in Paris

Two weeks ago we had the privilege of joining 6 of our fellow beauty bloggers, along with Kristen from Total Beauty for a week-long visit to Paris, France.

We already shared some of our favorite pictures with you but now we want to tell you a little about the amazing girls we spent the week with:

Christine from 15 Minute Beauty Fanatic

Christine in front of the Louvre in Paris, France.

Christine is a critical-care physician that moonlights as a beauty blogger. She started 15 Minute Beauty Fanatic nearly two years ago as a way to document her quest for beauty products that would help her get ready for work in less than 15 minutes. A Type-A multi-tasker that can juggle a ridiculous schedule while still keeping herself together, Christine is smart and funny and has the most adorable dimples–but you’ll never see them because she’s a tad camera-shy. (Also? She’s a fellow Siberian Husky owner! Someone who understands the obsessive vacuuming that we Husky owners must endure.)

Tammy from A Mom in Red High Heels

Tammy in our apartment on Rue Vaneau in Paris, France.

We first met Tammy last season at LA Fashion Week and she is as sweet as can be. A mom of two, she keeps herself busy updating A Mom in Red High Heels and feels it’s her personal mission to show moms everywhere that life doesn’t stop after having children. (Hm. It would have been great to know Tammy back in 1994 when we had two children under the age of two and felt privileged to have clean hair much less red high heels!) Tammy is truly an inspiration (hello, she gets ready every day before the kids leave for school while other (ahem) work-at-home moms are still lolling around their desk in pajamas when the final bell rings at 3:00 p.m.) and I’m happy to call her my friend.

Nadine from Jolie Nadine

Nadine at Durand Dupont Drugstore (a restaurant) on Place du Marché, in Neuilly, France.

It’s hard to believe that Nadine from Jolie Nadine is only in her 20s. Of course, she looks as young as can be but she’s already an accomplished author (her second book is coming out early next year), is quite the international traveler, and is wise beyond her teensy tiny little years. Nadine studied French for over 15 years, so her French-speaking skills are impeccable. If you’re not reading Jolie Nadine (formerly Jolie in NYC) you are truly missing out. This girl is something special.

Carla from Product Girl

The “Carla” boutique on the way to Neuilly, France.

Product Girl was one of the very first beauty blogs that we fell in love with. Carla (also camera-shy) has a love of brightly hued eye shadows and lip colors, and she lives in the Seattle area where some of our family members live, so we hit it off right away. We must have been “talking” via email for over two years, so it was so nice to finally meet her in person. Carla is a wealth of knowledge where beauty is concerned and is even sweeter in person than she is on her blog.

Cailin from The Beauty Bunny

Cailin at Le Petit Chaise in Paris, France.

The youngest of the bunch, Cailin from The Beauty Bunny was a fun, lively addition to our group. Just 22 years old, she has some mad technical skills–the kind we’d die for. She’s also very resourceful: After suffering with aching feet from all the walking, she found a pair of sleek house-slippers on the street for just 6 Euros and walked in comfort for the remainder of the trip! The Beauty Bunny is a highly successful beauty blog that you should definitely check out.

Julia from All About the Pretty

Julia and Erika on the streets of Paris, France.

Long-time Makeup Bag readers know that Julia from All About the Pretty is our BBBFF (Beauty Blogging BFF). If you’ve met this girl in person, you know that NO ONE knows more about, well, pretty much anything, than Julia. Especially where skincare products are concerned. (Have you SEEN her skin?) Spending the week in Paris with Julia made it all the more better. Recently she was featured in the Washingtonian and made us so very proud–congrats Julia, you deserve it!

Kristen from Total Beauty

Kristen on the Seine River in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.

Without Kristen from Total Beauty, this Paris trip would never have happened. She orchestrated the contests with Total Beauty and L’Oreal Paris that brought us all there. Kristen was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer and even though she had just undergone major surgery a mere three weeks before, she joined us for the most amazing trip a beauty girl could ask for.

Shannon Nelson from A Girl’s Gotta Spa just interviewed Kristen for a story on breast cancer survival– you should go read it and be inspired by this amazing woman.

And stay tuned for more updates from our trip to Paris, including the Clarins Spa, Rene Furterer Salon, Guerlain, Annick Goutal, the Sephora on the Champs-Élysées (OMG!) and more…
