Mother’s Day Tribute

Pictured here is my friend Ellen from Lipstick Powder ‘n Paint and her lovely mom:

Here’s why Ellen thinks her mom is beautiful:

“My mother doesn’t need to wear any makeup to look stunning - she is glamorous from the moment she wakes up to when she goes to bed. As well as being a ‘Yummy Mummy’, she is beautiful on the inside - warm, thoughful and generous - always putting others before her.   I love my Mother!”

Mother’s Day Tribute

Amber from Beauty Blogging JunkieThis is my friend Amber from Beauty Blogging Junkie. While I was in New York last week, Amber and I had dinner together right after we invaded the beauty closet at one of the top fashion magazines. I am so not kidding. (That’s a story for another day, but Amber and I were pinching each other as we turned circles inside the hugest beauty closet you could ever imagine.)

Here’s why Amber thinks her mom is beautiful:

“My mother taught me everything I know about a myriad of subjects ranging from grammar to boys to art and how to act like a lady. The older I get, the more I become exactly like her. It used to be my greatest fear as a sullen teenager… but it’s become my greatest dream in recent years. My mother’s fairy-like, effervescent personality is her most beautiful quality and any casual observer can tell she’s having the most fun of anyone else in any room she graces with her presence. She is 63, but you’d never know it were you to talk to her. And you definitely wouldn’t know it if you were to look at her. She looks a good 15-20 years younger - her secret is that she hasn’t used makeup in powder form in at least 15 years. In honor of Mother’s Day, I decided to give her her own column on my blog for her to share HER beauty tips. Love you, mom! Happy Mother’s Day.”

Mother’s Day Tribute

This is my friend Daneen from Spoiled Pretty and her beautiful mother Andrea:

Here’s why Daneen thinks her mom is beautiful:

“I think my mom is beautiful because she looks just like me! Just
kidding. My mom is my inspiration. She’s an intelligent and confident
woman - and is crazy in the most entertaining way. She has worked so
hard and sacrificed so much to afford my sister and I opportunities and
experiences that she never had. Seeing her children happy, healthy,
and successful is my mother’s joy. That’s what makes my mom beautiful.”

Mother’s Day Tribute

Hope everyone is enjoying a beautiful Sunday morning with their mothers.

Erika’s mom

This is my beautiful mom, Vicki (along with my sister Monica, me and Janey—this picture was taken three years ago).

My mom lives in Hawaii so I don’t get to see her very often (hence the 3-year-old photo). She’s an amazing woman who worked incredibly hard to raise three children as a single mother. She taught me the importance of reading, good manners and moisturizing (not a bath went by without slathering myself in Baby Magic afterward).

My mom always made an effort to give us special gifts like our favorite perfumes (LAUREN by Ralph Lauren for me, Anais Anais by Cacharel for my sister), books, and jewelry with our birthstones.

She’s smart and compassionate and an amazing grandmother. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!

Throughout the day today, we’re featuring some other beautiful moms, so stay tuned…
