Child Perfume

Back in January at the Bendel’s Beauty Breakfast in New York, we met Susan, the creator of Child Perfume.

Before we had a chance to sniff her fragrance, we were mesmerized by the handwritten detail in her logbooks. She had brought the books along to show attendees the personalized care that goes into each vial of Child Perfume—the delicate mix of ingredients, the careful rotation and fermentation (does perfume ferment?!) of each batch. We were awestruck.

The scent itself is a heavy Hawaiian jasmine (Pikake) with a bit of musk. It’s a strong floral that could be too much for some noses, but, like many celebrities and beauty editors alike, we’re in love. The scent is uncomplicated in that it doesn’t change much after the dry down—and it stays on forever.

Child Perfume

Child Perfume comes in a 1.3 oz or .33 oz roller ball container and can be purchased at Henri Bendel or online at beautyhabit.com.

Orange Crush

We have a serious aversion to anything orange flavored. The thought of drinking an Orange Crush soda is almost as disgusting as licking the bottom of our shoe. (Orange Creamsicles and Bayer Children’s Chewable Aspirin are equally detestable.)

However, this month, we’re crushing on orange big time.

Our new favorite bring-on-the-Spring cheek shade is orange—and it looks oh-so-fab. While slightly scary in the pan, these shades of orange look nothing of the sort on our cheeks:

Three Custom Color Lip & Cheek Stain in Poppy: Super sheer color that can be layered for more coverage.

Cargo Blush in Rome: Add to apples for a quick pop of color that screams “fresh.” Be sure to tap excess product off brush before applying.

Tarte Cheek Stain in Tipsy: A water based push-up gel stick that’s perfect for travel.

All of these bring easy, natural warmth to our springtime look without much effort. Just don’t make us drink them.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser and Toner

Kiehl’s Ultimate Cleanser and Toner

Much like maple bars and House reruns, Kiehl’s beauty products never fail to brighten our day.

We’re especially enthralled with the new Ultra Facial Cleanser and Ultra Facial Toner for their simple, pH-balanced formulas that are gentle yet effective. The slightly creamy gel cleanser lathers nicely and rinses clean, leaving our face feeling clean and smooth. And while toners aren’t usually our “thing,” the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Toner is alcohol-free and so gentle, it actually leaves us feeling fresh and hydrated without stripping our skin of natural oils. In fact, we don’t think this should be called a toner at all— we vote the label should read: Ultra Facial Cleanser’s Sidekick.

And if Kiehl’s doesn’t go for that, we’ll settle for Ultra Facial Refresher: better than a maple bar.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser and Ultra Facial Toner are available at Kiehl’s counters nationwide and online at Kiehls.com.
