Ted Gibson Beauty: Body Shampoo & Conditioner

Last month at the Bendel’s Beauty Breakfast at Henri Bendel in New York, we were treated to an amazing hand/arm massage with the new Ted Gibson Body Shampoo & Conditioner.

Ted Gibson Beauty: Body Shampoo & Conditioner

We have to admit, even though the treatment left our hands incredibly soft and hydrated, we haven’t been able to duplicate the effect on our entire body here at home. After using our samples on and off for the last month, we noticed today that our bottle of Affirmation (our favorite scent of the three offered) Body Conditioner is nearly full while the Affirmation Body Shampoo is almost gone. The reason? We’re too impatient to let the Body Conditioner sit on our skin in the shower for 2-3 minutes. (Hey, 2-3 minutes is a long time. Just now, while a cup of tea was in the microwave for two minutes, we changed a load of laundry, fed the dogs and clipped a stray hangnail on our thumb with cuticle nippers—three very important chores that took less time to complete than our Ted Gibson Body Conditioner takes to soak in.)

We haven’t had any issues using up the Body Shampoo, though—it lathers nicely and leaves our skin squeaky clean. In addition to Affirmation (geranium and dandelion) there’s also Transformation (grapefruit and honey) and Prosperity (rose and ginger) in this series. If you don’t mind an extra step in the shower, go for the Ted Gibson Body 6-Piece Travel Set and try all three scents.

Just don’t fall behind on your chores.

Jaime Pressly’s new haircut

Last Sunday, Jaime Pressly did what most new moms do after having their baby: chopped off her hair!

Jaime Pressly new Haircut

Celebrity stylist Sean James Decuers from NYC’s Rita Hazan Salon gave Jaime a super sleek bob that’s a little longer than chin-length and extended her bangs to frame her eyes.

“We went for versatility, using texturizing and thinning shears to create a more modern cut,” says Decuers. “She likes to wear her hair tousled, more organic and textured, so we gave her something easy to work with, but still edgy and fun.”

This cut is great because it’s long enough to pull back into a ponytail but not long enough for chubby, sticky little fingers to get tangled in.

And it looks great!

Three Custom Color Specialists

Earlier this month, during Fashion Week, we had a chance to stop by the Three Custom Color Specialists Color Studio in New York for a consultation.

Co-founders Trae and Chad were on site to give us a tour of their color lab where their technicians were hand-pouring the Perfectly Pink Lip Gloss Palette (with love!).

Three Custom Color Specialists

Trae sat us down for a once-over and determined that Concealer #4 was best suited for our skin tone. (Which surprised us because, left to our own devices, we would have chosen a shade much lighter.) She carefully covered the blemishes on our tired skin and did her best to relieve us of the dark circles under our puffy eyes (a crazy schedule with no sleep wreaks havoc on our skin) but left the rest of our skin foundation-free.

She suggested a more natural finish, allowing our freckles to show through, for a fresher, younger look (who are we to disagree with that!). A light dusting of Cool Bronzer and bit of Poppy Lip & Cheek Stain and we were ready to walk out the door.

Three Custom Color Specialists

In addition to their amazing range of concealers, Three Custom is known for their Clarifier Pencils (dark & light) used on the inner rim of the eye to brighten and widen and their custom blending option. In their studio, they can re-create any discontinued makeup item or personalize your own custom color from scratch!
