Watching Dick Page, artistic director for Shiseido The Makeup, work his magic backstage never ceases to amaze us. His effortless technique and easygoing attitude make it easy to understand why he’s a makeup superstar.
For the Zero+Maria Cornejo show, he applied makeup to the models under the lights on the runway, allowing him to see the metallic gold and silver paint reflecting the light. An evolution of last season’s fluorescent colors, the designer wanted random paint strokes, pure skin and a tint of lip crayon on the models and Dick Page didn’t disappoint.
Being backstage at a Shiseido sponsored event also gave us an opportunity to sneak a peek at the upcoming Fall collection. Launching in August 2008 and created by Page, the fall collection offers five new Automatic Lip Crayon shades, two new Lip Gloss shades (silvery pearl and gold shimmer!), two new Silky Eye Shadow Quads and an Accentuating Color Stick (champagne flush).
We’ll keep you posted on this fall collection as more details become available.
