Gossip is for girls

Teen Corner

My friends and I are addicted to Gossip Girl.

Blake Lively is so adorable—and she’s on the cover of Lucky this month!

Blake Lively on the January cover of Lucky

I love how her character has such effortless style. I imagine her beauty routine is equally easy, yet precise . (In other words, I doubt she goes to bed without washing her face!)

In the Lucky article, Blake talks about some of her favorite beauty products including Physicians Formula Bronzer and CHANEL Glossimer in Summer Plum .

Lucky for me, my mother is obsessed with Chanel lip gloss so I have access to several otherwise-unaffordable shades, but the Physicians Formula Bronzer is available at the drug store and won’t deplete my savings when I drop my bag and shatter the contents, as I’ve been known to do. I know I’ve talked about this before here at Teen Corner, but everyone I know uses this bronzer and loves it.

It’s nice to know ultra-cool Blake Lively shares in my obsessions.

Makeup Bag loves Matrix

Before hopping on a plane to head home on Wednesday, we stopped by the Royalton Hotel in NYC to say hello to our friends at Matrix.

Matrix Holiday Event

They had a gorgeous penthouse suite displaying products for every possible hair concern—truly a beauty blogger’s heaven. (Which is probably why we ran into two of our beauty-blogging friends there: Tia—who we should have totally gotten a photo of because this girl is not only an exceptional writer, she’s insanely gorgeous (no, really—we’ve seen her three times in the last week and the girl is utter perfection), and the equally fab India-Jewel who always has the insider scoop and makes the most amazing videos during fashion week.)

Matrix Vavoom

Matrix Biolage Hydrating SystemeWe’ve told you before how much we love Vavoom products, and the new Amplify volumizing products are our must-have styling essentials of the moment—but there’s something so familiar, so lovely about good ‘ol Biolage.

The signature scent of Biolage always puts us in a good mood and the moisturizing properties of Biolage Hydrating Systeme puts our hair in a good mood. The Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioning Balm nourish dry, over-stressed hair leaving it shiny and soft.

And now, Biolage has a new product range coming out next month (January 2008) called Biolage scalpthérapie Cooling Mint. This minty fresh shampoo and conditioner awakens the senses while treating and nourishing the scalp.

Typically minty shampoos are too harsh for us, but this one has a subtle, gentle scent that is truly divine—not harsh at all—and leaves our hair sqeaky clean and fresh.

Gucci Westman moving on from Lancome

Gucci Westman’s association with Lancôme has come to an end and she will conclude her role as International Artistic Director of Lancôme.

Gucci Westman

Says Gucci Westman, “My time with Lancôme has been wonderful. It was an incredible learning experience being with a brand of this caliber, and I’d like to thank the Lancôme team for the opportunities and friendship they extended to me.”

Watching Gucci Westman work backstage at NY Fashion Week was such a treat for us—her touch is incredibly light and her work is amazing. We’re disappointed we won’t see her at the shows in the spring but are looking forward to Lancôme’s next adventure.

NYC girls, run to Bloomies on 59th—quick!

Whitney on CLINIQUE Happy Bottle

We’re terribly late in posting this, but if you’re in the city and have time, run over to Bloomingdale’s 59th Street, 3rd floor CLINIQUE counter for an opportunity to have your picture taken with Whitney Port from The Hills!

She’ll be there posing for pictures with fans to be used on a NEW Clinique Happy Personalized Photo Bottle from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. today.

If you’re not in the city, you should stop by your local Clinique counter where employees nationwide are celebrating “Clinique Happy Day” by making your shopping experience more enjoyable. They’ll wrap your gifts (even if they weren’t purchased at the Clinique counter) and help you to your car (among other things). You might even find yourself face to face with a Clinique executive as all employees from the top down will be working in-store at a Clinique counter today. (If you see our friends Sheila & Megan from the Global Communications department, tell them we said HI!)

And while you’re there, be sure to pick up NEW Clinique Happy Personalized Photo Bottle as a gift for someone special.

Have fun!
