MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

Our friend Heather promised that the moment we tried MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, our life would be forever changed—and she was right.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

This week we gave this light mineral powder a whirl and can’t believe the sweet coverage. The slowly baked minerals offer a sheer, natural-matte finish without looking flat. Also, it’s sheer enough to touch-up throughout the day without building up and caking.

Today we spent 8 hours traveling—leaving home at an ungodly hour—yet we arrived at our destination this evening with a fresh and even-toned complexion.

Aside note: Are any of you fans of the Fox drama House? (If you’re not—you should be!) Last night, we just happened to watch the episode where they think a passenger on the same flight as Dr. House has bacterial meningitis and quite possibly infected the entire plane—which had us obsessively applying Purell and covering our face with a scarf for the entire flight today. And yes, we understand the difference between reality and fantasy, but you really should watch this show—Hugh Laurie is riveting.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural comes in five shades: Light, Medium, Medium Dark, Dark and Deep Dark and is a great alternative to loose powder while we’re on the road.

*12/09/07 Update: The Medium shade is not discontinued, it’s just on backorder and very hard to find. We’ve been using this in Light, but Medium is probably more appropriate for our skin tone. (If we can ever get our hands on some, we’ll try that shade next.)

  • Sounds like something I’d like to try, Erika.

I love House. I just don’t want him to be my doctor!

  • I think the Medium shade has been discontinued or longterm out-of-stock.

  • House is one of my favorite shows. Hugh Laurie is brilliant. :)

Did you see him when he was in the real people version of 101 Dalmatians?

  • Could you please be more specific in how you apply your MSF Natural? I’ve heard that you can use many different brushes (MAC 187, 150, kabuki) and techniques to apply. Please elaborate!

  • sorry…the medium shade has been discontinued.

  • As a flight attendant (and esthetician) it freaked me out to see the ads for that episode! Planes are so very dirty, the whole idea has scarred me for life:)

  • It’s the best, light and perfect!!! Im surprised u havent tried it before!!!

  • I’ve been looking to try this for a while actually, but I wasn’t sure if medium or light would be more suitable for me.

Are the colours in real life true to the swatches on the website?

  • The powders have not been discontinued. They are a permanent product at all MAC free-standing stores. Most of the colors are temporarily long-term out of stock. Don’t give up on these powders, as they are super amazing! Put your name on a list at your local MAC so they can call you when your shade arrives. MAC knows how popular this product is and is working very hard to get them to every store!

  • I absolutely hated MSF natural. It caked something TERRIBLE on my nose and made me greasy as all heck. I guess there really is no one perfect product for everyone! :)

  • Cant wait to try the new MSF collection! And this shade really cought my eyes!!! I have just one MSF so far, Gold Spill, from Flashtronic (the collection I loved the most from MAC so far – what are those mosaics?!) and I love it. But I just want now something i can use daily. Lets see if this is the one!

  • I have purchased this powder in “Light Medium”, which I use as a foundation applied with a kabuki brush.

I really love this powder, since it is so sheer and luminous and most important, not drying my skin.

My sensitive skin usually gets flakes when I apply powder, but this is not the case with this product!

So, I’m not using any other powders now, since I got to know this one!
