Backstage with Shiseido’s Dick Page
Thanks to our lovely friends at Shiseido, we had a chance to see Dick Page, Shiseido Artistic Director, in action backstage at the Zero+Maria Cornejo show last week.

He was going for an “outlandish look” to complement the collection’s bold colors and geometric shapes. With custom blended colors from Shiseido’s Yokohama Lab in Japan, Page added a slash of color to highlight pure skin and bring focus to the eyes.

When asked how this look could translate to everyday life, Page told us a swipe of white or cobalt blue liner across the lid would have the same effect without being too eccentric.
We’re looking forward to exciting new collections from Shiseido The Makeup, beginning with their 2008 Spring Preview (available March 2008) which includes:
Hydro-Powder Eye Shadows
- Languid Lagoon
- Rose Tulle
- Lemon Sugar
- Clover Dew
Shimmering Lipstick
- Cheerful Pink
- Spring Violet
- Pale Coral
- Summer Sunset
Multi-Shade Enhancer
- Terra-Cotta Glow
- Sunset Glow
Oh, and if you need us, we’ll be here pacing the room until sometime next year when Dick Page’s first Shiseido The Makeup color collection debuts.

Great post, Erika and DP is a genius.

It’s a cool look, but that ain’t no custom blended Shiseido color! It’s the neon glow Kryolan Aquacolors he used and transferred to other pots!
