haha, I'm a quarter japanese as well (and 3/4 white) and also have shortish, perfectly straight eyelashes. I've been married to my eyelash curler and mascara since 8th grade--it makes such a difference! My dad is hapa but doesn't look asian at all (maybe hawaiian), so the only place the japanese shows for me is in my eyelashes...and maybe my dark hair.

My experience with DejaVu (the name in which it was called back home in Asia) was pretty much the same with yours. I was so excited to hear that Sephora had it in the US and went to snatch one up right away. What a disappointment! The feedback I had read seemed to be that either you love it or hate it. I was hoping that I'd be in the 'love it' crowd, but sadly, I have to stick with the (limited) stash of my HG mascara, available outside US only, Fasio, for now.

Since you don't like the Fibrewig, I think you should give Fasio a try (the 3D + Airtech - http://www.kose.co.jp/cosme/fasio/product/eye/index.html (the 7th + 8th ones from top). From my experience, most of the time .. if you love Fasio, then you won't like Dejavu and vice versa ;)

However, be forewarn. Fasio is notorious for its durability. Some people claimed that it stayed on even after 8-hr labor :-| which sounds like a good thing (?) until it's time to take it off. Personally, I don't find it that hard to remove -- you just have to get the right remover to use with. Victoria's Secret eye makeup remover (http://tinyurl.com/3xb3hx) works best for me. It's even better than Fasio own mascara remover (but if that's the choice available to you, buy it).

Not Deszell, but you can find Majolica Majorca on adambeauty.com and japcosmo.com (and perhaps bobodave.com, but I never ordered from that site).
I tried the fiberwig as well but I was not that impressed by it.

agreed with xoxo majolica works it wonder applly 2 times ur lash expanded just like that chinese fan that kind you unfold to use it (get it? that old fan kind). The Dejavu mascara has to be trickied to use it though. I've got some tip about how to apply. You need to apply it vertically lash by lash and emphasize at the last few lashes to get a very faburious result. 2 times will do the good job so dun over apply it will end up clumpy. hey good job on the website but I would like to see the real color such as lipstick , blush , eyeshadow maybe apply on your arm and show us real color so we can see how nice it is .. just the thought.

I've never tried this particular one, but I tried two other Japanese brand mascara. One of them work really good for me, its called Majolica Majorca Lash Expander and its also one of the best selling mascara in Japan.

Hi! Just would like to say i love your site and all the info you blog about!

But i have to disagree on this one... i'm full Asian (hence have stick-straight lashes too *sob*) and this is my holy grail! It adds no volume but really gives me long lashes... the key is to not put too many layers near the roots, but use a rolling action only on the tips... this mascara requires some time to get used to. But if you want volume, then this mascara is no-go! :)

Just my two cents! Great job on the website!
