Making their mark

Avon

Wow. Avon profits have nearly tripled this quarter according to WWD. They’ve reported a net profit of $150 million for the quarter ending March 31st which is quite impressive compared to the $56.2 million from the same time last year.

We need to get our hands on a catalog.

  1. Yes, you do need to get your hands on a catalog! I got the Superfull mascara recently for the first time and I have to say that I am beyond impressed. Frankly, when a man looks at your lashes and says “are you wearing false eyelashes?” you know that it’s finally noticeable enough! Also I have the Sheer Sangria lipstick and the color is so beautiful.

Avon has always had such positive associations because I once had a teeny little bottle of Charisma (we’re talking age 4 here) that I adored, never used (but always opened and smelled) and then, tragically, spilled everywhere. But they have really stepped up their game – AND the stuff actually goes on sale!

  2. A friend of mine is an Avon representative, so I get regular access to Avon and mark. products. I have been really impressed with them lately. They have some really great products, particularly the mark. glosses and the shadows by both divisions. Also, Jillian Dempsey’s stuff that she designed for Avon is wonderful.

  3. I’m a Mark rep too. Don’t know why, never tried it… but I am. :)

  4. Hi, Erika:

I tried a sample (no burning!) of the ANEW CLINICAL Plump & Smooth Lip System and had to get one for my fabulous, beautiful nail pedicure tech, Satoko. Here’s the info: http://shop.avon.com/shop/product.asp?department=new&level1_id=300&level2_id=302&pdept_id=324&dept_id=&pf_id=30713

I save time and money by doing my own manicure, and I’m hooked on the Avon INSTANT MANICURE Dry Nail Enamel Strips: http://shop.avon.com/shop/product.asp?pf_id=30969&from=search&find_spec=instant%20nails&camp=200710&dir_delivery=1&rep_delivery=1

Takes ten minutes vs 45 – instead of base, 2 coats and top coat – rarely chips and lasts 10 to 14 days. $4.50 to $4.99 on sale. Instant Rose and Twinkling Pink are my favorites.

    Aloha, Soos
