Make Up & Go Collection

Our sister was visiting from Texas this weekend and had fun raiding our Makeup Bag. In addition to about THIRTY other items, she left with our Pink Shimmer Brick. We haven’t used it in over a year so we shouldn’t be sad about seeing it go, but we totally are. In fact, we’re feeling rather guilty that we didn’t spend more time with it.

When we woke up this morning and saw the new Sandstone Shimmer Brick on the Bobbi Brown website, we knew that all would be well in the world.

Bobbi Brown Sandstone Shimmer Brick

This newest color of shimmer powder by Bobbi Brown is perfect for giving fair skin like ours a warm bronzy glow, and just what we need to forget about Pink and move on with our life.

(If Sandstone is not the color for you, there’s surely another Shimmer Brick to make you happy. And pretty.)

Whipped cream for the eyes

One of our favorite rituals of the day is the half hour prior to bedtime when we stand before our bathroom sink and prepare our skin for the peaceful 8 hours of sleep ahead.

Or the not-so-peaceful 6 hours of sleep ahead. (Who are we kidding? We have a pre-schooler that somehow ends up in our bed almost every night, no matter how many times we’ve begged, pleaded and bribed her to sleep on her own.)KenzoKi Relaxing Eye Whipped Cream

Needless to say, restless nights wreak havoc on our complexion. This is why we savor the moments before bed by lingering a little longer than we probably should at the sink with our beloved jars and bottles of face cream. It’s the perfect way to end the day.

And, thanks to KenzoKi Relaxing Eye Whipped Cream, it’s the perfect way to start the morning.

When applied before bed this incredibly silky eye cream goes to work without any effort from us whatsoever. None. Nada. Zilch.

The original formula of white lotus, essential oils and mineral salts, along with some other fancy ingredients, creates a zen-like eye cream that has us looking forward to bedtime. Gently patted around our eyes (with the ring finger, girls. Always the ring finger) KenzoKi Relaxing Eye Whipped Cream tames puffiness and dark areas while relieving tired eyes.

Our eyes haven’t looked this rested since, well, um… (We would mention the whole pre-schooler in our bed thing, but then you might be all SHUT UP about that already, just put the damn kid in her bed and don’t let her get up. Who’s the parent anyway? and then we might have to wonder if you really even need this eye cream because you obviously live a stress-free life while enjoying 12 hours of sleep every night. And you probably eat all of your vegetables, too.)

Our lucky number

It has taken us a while, but we finally got ourself over to Target to see the incredibly popular British beauty product brand, Boots.Boots No7 Restore & Renew Beauty Serum

Since No7 is Boots’ best-selling line in the UK, it made sense for us to start there. The product we most wanted to try is the No7 Restore & Renew Beauty Serum, as earlier this month the UK equivalent to this product, Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum, flew off the shelves after a BBC program called ‘Horizon’ featured it. British retailers of Boots products are literally keeping lists to manage customer demand for Protect & Perfect, a product scientifically shown to improve photo-aged skin and the fine lines associated with it. And it’s available without a prescription!

Sadly, Protect & Perfect is not sold here in the US but its (equally good) twin sister, Restore & Renew Beauty Serum, is. And it was the first thing we scanned the Boots display for at Target last week.

While it takes up to 4 weeks to see results from Restore & Renew, we think we’re already starting to see benefits. Our skin seems brighter and smoother after only a few days (we know it’s probably not likely but, whatever, let’s roll with it).

The silky-smooth serum is used twice daily after cleansing and before moisturizing.

We can’t wait to try their other lines- Botanics, Feel the Difference, Mediterranean, Sleep & Time Dimensions.
