No flyaways!

Biolage Shielding Shine MistIn an effort to rid ourself of damaged ends and streamline our morning styling routine, we recently chopped 5 inches off our hair leaving only a chin-length bob. It takes forever to blow-dry long hair and ours was looking rather lackluster and slightly fried from the hot appliances we subjected it to each morning.

While the haircut solved our damaged-ends issue, our hair still looked dull and drab and in desperate need of revival.

BIOLAGE Shielding Shine Mist, a lightweight no-hold spray, saved us. We spray this on our styled hair in the morning and it instantly adds a healthy looking sheen while protecting from the sun and the environment. In addition to glossy shine, this product also keeps color from fading.

Of course, we still need a deep conditioning treatment, but thanks to our shiny hair, nobody has to know that.

Springtime!

Did you know yesterday was the first day of Spring?

Why didn’t you tell us?! We went around all day like it was just another Tuesday; another day full of meetings and laundry, but it was SO MUCH more than that. Damn.

We should have bought ourself some flowers or a pedicure or had pancakes for breakfast. To celebrate! SPRING!

Aveda has spring on their mind, too. And it’s, um, uuuuh, springy?

Aveda Spring/Summer 2007

We’re kind of let down with this new image, as it does not compare to the Holiday Collection image from last season.

But the three new color palettes in Zen Blooms, Moroccan Mist and Spanish Sun look lovely. You can see the entire Aveda Spring and Summer 2007 collection here.

Also, check out the other Spring and Summer makeup collections from this season.

Because oil is not pretty

Blotting papers are a must in our makeup bag. They instantly freshen our look before a mid-day meeting and keep our co-workers from thinking we’ve been at the gym all morning instead of working hard at our desk.

We’ve probably tried every kind of blotting paper on the market, and currently have Philosophy Oil Control Blotting Sheets, Tarte Little Blot Book, Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets and MAC Blot Film in our possession. While all of these blotting papers work great for removing oil, none of them can help our skin from producing oil in the first place.

Is that even possible, you ask?

Rodan + Fields has announced the launch of Unblemish Oil Absorb: Blot Papers with Zincidone, a new technology developed to reduce excess oil with continued use over time.

Rodan + Fields Unblemish Oil Absorb: Blot Papers with Zincidone

These blot papers were created as a supplemental addition to the popular Rodan + Fields Unblemish regimen, a three step system Drs. Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields created to help combat breakouts.

Just think, blot oil and keep it from coming back at the same time.

Unblemish Oil Absorb: Blot Papers with Zincidone will be available beginning April 2007 at select retail locations and rodanandfields.com.

Summer Fun

Yes, we know it’s not yet summer, but we can’t resist these gorgeous fragrance bottles by Estée Lauder.

Summer Fun

Three of our favorite Estée Lauder fragrances, Beautiful, Pleasures and Beyond Paradise (this one is actually our 13 year old daughter’s all-time favorite; she wears it every day) are available this summer in limited edition bottles.

Aren’t they pretty?

We want all three of them!
