Shu Uemura: Paradox Mode

While we are all about minimalist makeup, we have mixed feelings about the look of this ad.
Maybe it’s because the model looks like she is in middle school and has just spent the last 6 hours painfully enduring a ski-lesson on the windiest day of the year. Or maybe it’s the crisp white suit and tie that seems just so awkward, as if it were dress up day and she can’t bear to face her peers in the outfit her mother has forced her to put on.
But we understand that makeup is art, and this ad is an expression of Shu Uemura’s ideas, and that is what makes it interesting.
What we do love about this collection is the Shimmering Metallic-White Drawing Pencil. These pencils are waterproof, smudgeproof and transfer resistant. And? There’s fifteen colors to choose from in both metallic and matte finishes.
See Shu Uemura’s entire Paradox Mode Makeup Collection 2007 here.

Makeup is art, and though the ad is a little strange, it’s nice to see something different!
