Back in business

We’re finally home.

Safe and sound and totally exhausted from visiting family, eating pumpkin pie, kissing babies and being in the car for a very very very long time. (We got stuck in bad weather on our way home from Washington yesterday and spent several hours at a standstill atop a mountain pass or two or FIVE as we made our way back to Nevada.)Sugar Sugar Scrub

But now we’re back in business here at the Makeup Bag, and we have some wonderful things to share with you, beginning with this incredible Sugar Sugar Scrub from a small bath and body company called Le Chat Beauty.

When we FINALLY arrived home today at noon, the first thing we did was take a nice long relaxing bath in hopes of erasing the previous 36 hours from our mind.

This Sugar Sugar Scrub smells heavenly and left our parched skin exfoliated and moisturized with cane sugar, shea butter and coconut butter.

The perfect end to our hellish road trip.

Le Chat Sugar Sugar Scrub, $24.95

Away from home

Shiseido Pureness Refreshing Cleanshing Sheets

These cleansing pads from Shiseido have been a life saver while we are away from home.

They are convenient, alcohol free, and pH-balanced.

We’ve been using these morning and night to clean off our makeup and other impurities and to leave our skin feeling totally clean and refreshed.

Black Friday

Today, the biggest shopping day of the year they say, we are laying low and steering clear of any malls, boutiques or shopping centers.

We can’t remember the last time we shopped on the Friday after Thanksgiving because the craziness makes us crazy ourself. No, we’d rather stay at home, visit with family and enjoy the leftovers. (OH, and avoid the elbows and dirty looks at the checkout counters from psycho women who have nothing better to do than harrass holiday shoppers as if they were chat board trolls or something! The nerve.)Sally Hansen 5 Minute French Manicure Kit

Instead of shopping today, we are going to finish up our holiday cards* and give ourself a french-manicure with Sally Hansen’s 5 Minute French Manicure Pen Kit. This little kit has everything we need for a pretty french manicure, including a white tip pen that lasts for over 50 applications (and it’s so easy! Just hold the pen to your nail tip and twist your finger. Voila!)

This little kit is so easy, we can visit with family and paint our nails at the same time without making a huge mess. Genius!

Sall Hansen 5 Minute French Manicure Pen Kit, $8 (prices vary)

*If you’d like to receive a holiday card from The Makeup Bag, send us an email (beautyeditor@makeupbag.net) with your mailing address and we’ll be sure to add you to our list.
